Crozitz Virginia RxR Accident scene

,.. When the Amtrak Train Crashed on the west Coast, i wasable to pinpoint the exact location,. The Train/truck crash incident yesterday leaves Me Confused ?Has anyone went to Google and looked at the accident scene,? why is the garbage truck and debris where it is?? if the train was coming west,.the impact Should send all debris west,,. it appears to have landed some 50-126 feet east of impact zone ?,. that defys my logic and physics laws . Unless i have the wrong spot. Is 684 and 788 lanetown rd the accident scene ?

I think one of the pictures they are showing is with another train that may have been sent there.
The one in the pictures at the seen is not the same one that they are showing with the front end smashed.
Completely different paint schemes.
I don't know.

After working on the railroad for 37 years and seeing my share of these accidents I would say the truck was hit at the previous crossing and was shoved all the way to where it stopped.

Ok Then ,How about heading WEST ,coming from the EAST from Charlottsville,.How can the Impact scene throw debris eastward , when all the inertia spent should place the debris further west from the impact zone ,.. maybe i have the wrong location ?

I can buy that, Especially at 50-70 mph ,Finally all this makes sense . it will take some time to stop a moving train.. Upon closer examination the track does indeed have a minor crossing for a driveway some 800 ft back toward Crozet. apparrently the garbage had to be piked up at that driveway . the truck skidded on the rails in front of the train before finally breaking up right before the next crossing . There are no other crossings for a good ways . Btw , The town is CROZET

Yup, the train hit the truck and the truck TRAILED debris as it was pushed down the line until the whole mess came to a stop.

There was a locomotive at each end of the train. The wrecked locomotive was detached and the train was pulled back by the other locomotive.

I live about 15 miles from where it happened its a crossing in an old Lumber yard trucks use to go around a low height bridge. The had a roll off on it and the impact knock the roll off
off the truck and then the train pushed the truck down the track.
