Came home a few minutes ago, and saw 3 bald eagles sitting in the field south of my house. Kinda neat.

Cool. I see them here a lot standing on the edge of the ice on the lake when it breaks up watching for a fish to swim by.
They use to perch high in a dead tree by the lake but my neighbor had it taken down.

My son and his family live on 18 acres on a bend of the Minnesota River in south-central Minnesota and see a lot of bald eagles hunting (fishing) on the river. Last year he saw a dozen at one time sitting on ice at the edge of open water. They're neat birds.

See a lot of them here too, they pick up peoples cats, small dogs, lambs, baby pigs. Ya we see a lot of them eating dead deer.

Around here on the banks of the Mississippi just below a lock and dam they are thick in winter. Kinda a cross between a Hawk and a aTurkey Buzzard.... but closer to Buzzard. They usually wait for a dead fish to float by

I never would have believed I'd see Bald Eagles in the wild in Northern NY. But, they're common here. Pretty much an overgrown Crow or a much more attractive Buzzard judging by what they eat- which is mostly dead stuff!

I live in NW Oklahoma not far from the Cimarron river. Never used to see any bald eagles in the area...I would hear about them in previous years as various outdoorsmen reported seeing them here and there.

That changed about 4 years ago and they are a commonly seen bird these days. I had thought they migrated into our area during the winter from somewhere else...but no...they seem to be a year round bird these days.

Seen one the other day in harvested corn field trying to pick up a dead calf. {S.W. Central Iowa}
