well at least you wont have to hit the lever in that area, you were just trying to save time in the future 🚜

One would have to be completely
out of it because tractor will
not turn very easy with that in
the ground. Would think one
would stop before all that

Happens all the time.
My best fried was hauling manure and his future BIL was running a tanker. Forgot to lift the tool and dug the gravel road up pretty good.
Another buddy pulled out of his field with a semi mount plow and turned over a nice chunk of state road pavement. Helped him turn it back over into place.....

fell asleep in the 70s driving a Massey 44 special pulling 3/16 across our town road [black top] not pretty

I headed under a overpass with the wings folded on a field cult. years ago. Overpass was on a banked curve so got tighter the farther through it I went. Wings started dragging on
top so I stopped and took it out of transport and let it down to where shovels were starting to drag. Still had about 15 ft. to go. By that time there were 20 cars lined up behind
me so can't back out. Soon cop came and told me get that thing out of here you are blocking traffic. I told him if I go any lower I will be cutting up asphalt. He said do what you
got to do. I cut about 30 nasty grooves in road. Once I was through we stopped and I gave him my name and the name of equip. owner (neighbor) Never heard anymore about it. About
10 yrs. later they completely change the road there and all was well.

Back when I was still wellding for a living
and JD first came out with their disc
chisel the larger size with wings the axle
wasn't strong enough. There were a bunch
sold locally so I got called out several
times to fix one when they failed on the
road and dug up a section of road. Did so
many that I got to where I could cut out
the original tube and replace it with a
thicker one in a couple hours. I did some
of their larger soil finnishers too that
had the same lift.

About 3 years ago a neighbor of mine was transporting a 1970s JD disk from their west farm to their ground next to us. They were moving it down the highway with a Versatile. Whoever was driving was asleep at the wheel because the disk settled going down the highway and before he noticed the disk had cut grooves in the highway for about 200ft. Only thing that saved him was that highway was slated to get repaved that summer.
