Welcome Sight

Went to the feed store this morning and saw this.

It was a welcome sight that reminds me spring is just around the corner.
While I will wait some will be planting sweet corn in 2 or 3 weeks.

I got to get my Wife some peeps this spring, she has had at least 4 old hens expire this fall and winter. I saw some pullets on craigslist that were pure white with black head and tail, I don't know what breed but I'm going to try and find some.

Remember when they used to be delivered by the mailman, in a square box with holes all around? Biddies in a box was one of those strangely pleasant smell you never forget.

Dang you guys down there. Are you in cahoots with them seed catalog people? It will be 3-4 month before we plant corn.

When I was young I actually got some stuff from REA Express. Man is that ever a long time ago. Late 1969 or there abouts. Can remember the hatchery boxes showing up at the post office. They would call up because they were worried about the little babies. We would run down and pick up these peeping boxes. The ones they sell at tractor supply and such are for the part timers. The hatchery only would send FULL boxes. They didn't want to hear any jazz about a half or a whole dozen stuff. Did you see this show with Mike Rowe? If you are a really good boy girl looker upper you can make $60,ooo a year! Over a hundred and ten different breeds of chickens? Boys have straight pin feathers and girls are staggered. The other way is the method that the Japanese brought to us in the early 30s. Naughty word program is watching.
hope i did this correctly.

Now to me that makes sense. Guess I was raised on a farm. If those little fluffy things get a chill you are Sol. They just keel over. Just got to keep the kids from playing with them. Next thing ya know they are now pets with names!
