Nice restoration,I'll give them that much. The utility version is hard to find. Even appears to have the correct under the hood muffler.

Just a point of curiosity, not a criticism, but have you ever actually purchased any of the 2-3 tractors recommended to you each week by forum members? If you bought even 10% you would have to have a shed the size of a football field! :)

Nope. I bought one that I found out later had a lot of talk going on face book, but I'm not on there,so I didn't know they were talking about it. Always fun to see what's out there in other parts of the country though. jm called me about one once instead of posting it on here. I considered going after that one as cheap as it was,but it was rough and I probably wouldn't have given this orchard tractor a second look if I'd have gone after that one.

I'm a lot more careful about posting them on here if I have any interest in them anymore. I learned my lesson on that with a rare Oliver built green Cockshutt. I didn't know the story of them at the time, but they had built some Oliver Standards to send to Vietnam to use in the rice. The order got cancelled,so they changed the ID to Cockshutt but didn't repaint them, then they sent them to Canada. That one ended up going through the roof.

Of course then there was that Oliver Super 44 at that auction south of Jackson as week ago today. I kept quiet about that one hoping it'd stay under the radar, but word got out.

Dave you know why he denies buying any that I have forwarded to him. He knows he owes me commission and he does not want to come to Tennessee and pay up.. LOL Truth is when I see an oliver he is the only person I can think of. Around here they are thought of as poor man,s tractor. O course that one in the add sure is not for the poor man.

Define rare? My 500 orchard is rare. In fact, one of a kind. Something like 577 or so of the 1550 utilities. If you consider that number rare then it is. Maybe instead of rare we need to start using the word collectable. Ya,the 1550 utility is quite collectable.
