Well the 2017 1040 finally made it off the presses. Been looking all over for the 2017 4562 (depreciation) form and all I get is a TBD. Who knows when that will be forthcoming. Any ideas?

I don't know but I'm waiting for it too. I got the 1040, Schedule C and SE printed, but I can't finish filling them in till the 4562 comes out.

They have the 2017 4562 draft instructions up but not the actual form, instructions could change but probably won't or at least not much.

Sheesh! Guess I know where MY mind is at this morning. Saw the title "[i:4b32d7a3e6]Taxes[/i:4b32d7a3e6]", then saw "[i:4b32d7a3e6]2017 1040[/i:4b32d7a3e6]", and all my mind could do was keep trying to picture a "new" version of a JD 1040. *lol*

I have mine. The software that I use here in the office for client returns has 4562. Of course I don't use that cheap stuff sold for home use. That is probably the difference.

Just got my 1099/1096 forms yesterday. Now I don't know if the first time I looked (in Dec) if they weren't available, or if I was looking in the wrong spot! I looked after the first of the year, and found where I could order them.

What is the year date in upper right corner?

This IRS webpage was revised on 05-DEC 2017 and it says use this form. With a link to the 2016 Form 4562

So maybe the IRS missed revising the link to the 2017 form?

No mention of any pending changes coming along.

"irs.gov" and in their search engine just plug in what you want, aka 4562, or 1040, or Schedule F. A listing comes up of things associated with that number and you get the current version (available at the time) and the past versions. Also listed are "4562 Instructions", and any thing else they have."

This is not "the cheap stuff". This is "irs.gov", the official IRS site. Now how is it that you have software with the 2017 issue of 4562 and IRS doesn't even have it?

All of the above is exactly what I did and came up with the link I posted.
And also why I asked Dave H what year is on the 4562 from his software when the IRS is not showing a 4562 for 2017 their website.
