Sitting in the house listening to the scanner, so many spin outs and stuck semis I can't hear them all, scanner isn't really quiet ever.

One county pulled the plows and not letting the tow trucks go out any more.

The big boy wreckers are just going from wreck to wreck here in the rural southern counties, the hwy Patrol is trying to line them up in order to go from tow to tow, next closest big rig that needs a tug.

Looks like you have some visibility there yet.

The Weather Channel dude was a 1/2 hour from me this morning. That's never good. It's fun seeing people from Atlanta trying to describe a snowstorm.

Looking at that windshield and that dry road in front of you, I don't envy you one bit. Fourty years ago I used to drive a Kenworth on that stuff at 80 mph. Be safe out there.

Several years ago I was on my way to FL on I75 and got caught in an icestorm. Something happened and we was stuck in the same spot for over 5 hours. When we got moving it was like the light turned green and off we went. Wish I could have got paid for those five hours. Never did find out why,no reports, no debris nothing. I was glad to have just filled up with gas.

Yeah.

When I was in school in Memphis, it started snowing about 3:00 one afternoon. By the time the 6:00 news came on, there had been over 400 fender benders within the city limits of Memphis.

I stayed home and watched TV that evening. You couldn't have paid me enough to go out into that mess.

When I owned my own truck the day didn't start until I got to the quarry and ended as soon as the last pebble fell off the back of the truck. As a driver for my friends I get paid for commute both ways, for fueling time, and for the occasional small repair time. Not having to perform maintenance and washing on Saturdays is a big plus as well.
