I run a small hay operation in southcentral pa,using john deere tractors and new Holland hay tools.my pride and joy is a72 4020 ol
 
Drilling grass seed earlier this fall that will be cut and baled for hay and hesston 560 I have not run it yet

That's interesting. Never really seen a drill used in snow like that, thought frost seeding was with a spinner broadcast.

To be fair I've planted oats in spring going over spots of ice or snowdrift, but not a while field like that.

Where are you located again, nice background. I'm in southern MN.

I haven't either Paul but I guess I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. Actually it would be a lot more accurate and uniform. Less ware on the disks as they would be lubricated from the snow.
 
It actually works really well the little bit of snow holds the seed from blowing away and the ground is hard enough the seed doesn't get planted to deep
