You came to the right place! Even though I farm with IH,I have a 44 A. Love it! It's my play tractor.BTW,The 'A' has an IH wide front grafted to it. Adds to the 'cool factor'.Maybe someonehere can post a pic.Happy tractoring!

Welcome aboard. Lots of good information can be found with just a quick search or posting....Be warned watch out for some of the fertilizer that gets spread on thick some days/nights, it can be hazardous to free time. Just a note new users have a probation period before they can post pictures(anti spam measure).

I run red(IH. But have a few green things(a 2440 I hate with a passion, and a 4400 combine).

S.V. in the picture with ringo driving the 4020 pulling the disk I see a set of harrows behind them, did they come with the disk? or did you build that set up? I expect with the harrows behind the disk it will leave the field smooth enough to plant with your seeder?

Your 4020 looks exactly like our '63 4010-D did. Except our dual wheels and radio were red. Same muffler & extension, air intake precleaner/prescreener, same wfe. We had 3-4, maybe 5 frt weights but never used them after removing them first time to mount cultivator. Had a set of rear wheel weights but tried to run the tractor as light as possible, not sure where they went, maybe neighbor bought them to hold his 4020 turbo down.

Spent a lot of time on '66/'67 4020's working for neighbor. His brand new 4320 with factory ROPS & AC cab had only been off the truck a couple hours when he sent me out to plow with it. Only had 3.0 hours on the tach when I left the yard, had about 11 hours when I called it a night. What a step up from a 4020.

I made the harrow attachment out the drawbar from
an old Allis Chalmers Harrow and then mounted the
sections from the harrow To the disk it does an
excellent job making a seedbed . And yes your right
ringo is the supervisor around here can?t get a thing
done without him

thank you sv, square tubing bolted across the disc , 2 angle irons per section, looks like muffler clamps at the end of each angle iron, cut the chains to the right length so when you lift the disc the trash dumps out of the harrows as well. a simple and very functional design! ringo did a good job supervising that project

We had a 4320 as well and yes they are quite a bit more poweful than a 4020 we never had wheel weights on either tractor the 43 had a double starter weight and the 43 would walk with a 5 bottom plow where the 40 had its hands full with 5x16 bottom plow I found a weight bracket off a 4850 and full stack of 20 weights, then I found 2 sets of the 145 pounds wheel weights for the 4020 and replaced the old bias ply 15.5.38 tires with 480.80.38 radialls now it will put some power to the ground

Actually those aren't muffler clamps they are just a half moon
rod with a bolt through one end they were part of the original ac
barrow cart as are the angle iron. the angle originally would
have been vertical when the harrow cart was in transport position
then the harrow sections would hang from the half moon rod

thank you sv., that gives me a good idea on how it was set up. when you lift your disc out to turn or travel the harrows are set up to lift with the disc?

Yes they lift up with the disc I usually set the rear chain a
little long so the harrow will drag a lot of dirt so so so
sometimes the harrow doesn't raise quite high enough to go down
the road so I use the leveling crank on the disk to raise the
rear of the disk so I can go down the road I have car tires on
the disk instead of the 7.50.14 implement tires it should have so
with the right tires the disc would lift the harrow far enough to
not have to worry about clearance on the road

thank you sv, I had to change the tires and get a new rim for my mm 10 ft. disc I picked up this summer, as it came with one 14" tire and rim and one 15" tire and rim? so I bought a 15" implement rim and used 2 good 15" tires I had in my stash from wifes mini van so the disc will at least be running level. i'll pick up a 10 ft. piece of square tubing and weld 2" angle irons on 2 per section, cut some 1/4" chain to length so it will raise enough to clear the trash and enough clearance for travel. thanks again sv. john.
