Tractors in Arizona

I have driven by this spot many times, a guy has some old iron (and wood) for sale. A nice Cub with a Woods mower, a little MC or 420 crawler and an assortment of old tractors. The box sleigh is a long way from home and any snow!

That guy looks to not have much to mow. But some do;my Dad has 2.5 acres about 30 miles west of Phoenix, and he has flood irrigation (thanks to the dam and canal system in the area, although occasionally it is well water) so he's got all of his in brumuda grass, and plants winter pasture (oats, Sudan or just pasture mix). So just depends on how hungry his steers are if he has to mow.

I live about 12 miles from Hancock Iowa. I wonder how that box sleigh got all the way from Iowa to Arizona???

I've got a windmill that I just rebuilt & stood up at one of our farms that was stenciled from a dealer in Hancock Iowa.

Your right, maybe a 420? I doubt that they ever put a loader like that on an MC. We had 2 MC's when I was young, first one was just a crawler, second one had a dozer. Then we got a 440 with a reverser, that was really an improvement. Then dad got a 350 diesel dozer, in about 66, and used that for 26 years until he passed away.

Russ MN,

All great photos of neat old stuff.

Sure is funny to see them all in
an over-sized sandbox... especially the sleigh. :)
