Just finished rebuilding the engine on this problem child! Allis
chalmers D-12 high crop. Guess the rear wheels are factory
high clearance as the guy has a D-17 with the same rear
wheels. The high clearance is not made by allis chalmers and
I do not know who made it. Maybe someone here knows.

I've got a D-14 high crop with similar rear wheels. May have been built in California and might possibly be an "Oxnard conversion". I haven't found much more detailed information on the net. Wonder if a sales brochure exists??

looks good john, now that would be a nice tractor to hook up to my nh. rake for rolling windrows with that clearance after a rain! hhmmm I wonder if john would notice it missing come haying time?

Did they put a different reduction gear in to slow down due to increase speed from larger tires? If so how?

I don?t think they reduced the gearing for it?s pretty fast in all gears.

This one is done. Time to go home with it. This is all I do for
this guy. Get them to run and drive. His stuff is on a rotation,
drop one off and then pick one up.
