Anyone know anything about Anthony cranes. Think about this one.

I know nothing about them. It looks like if the cylinder fails for some reason you will be the first to know. LOL

It looks to me like the cylinder would bottom out long before it would hit the operator! Most small cranes are designed similar and I have never heard of anyone being hurt by one, and I operated and worked around them for 35 years.

Would love to know more about that machine. Looks to be 60's vintage? I googled Anthony, but nothing comes up. Where was it made? What engine? Othe3r models?

(quoted from post at 06:05:27 01/07/18) Looks like it comes with a "Screaming Jimmy", 4-53 or 4-71 maybe.
He thinks it's a 3-53 Jimmy, I think he said 14-24 tires. It looks like it center pivots. 1963 model is what I think he said. He is asking $3k. Looks like it would be very handy. 8 foot wide and 21k pounds. Little big for my car trailer.

Interesting old beastie! I'd never heard of Anthony myself, but I did find a few things on youtube. Turns out there's a singer named Anthony Crane and so of course most of the hits were related to him, but there were a few things that might help you in your research. Looks like they made military stuff like forklifts as well, and had DD engines. Can't vouch for the info, but at least here's a couple more Anthony base units. Let us know if you go further with it--it looks like a handy unit and definitely not everyday fare!

I would love to have it but it's not in my budget right now. If anyone is interested it's under Salem Oregon Craigslist.

Sounds like a beast! I've got a Lull 400. Roughly the same weight, 4wd all terrain, will lift to a height of ~35 feet. Power plant is a Dodge 225 slant six.
