COLD BUSH!!!!

It is tuff to pull tractors in the Winter. This week is the big pull at Gordyville. It is sad when you have to bring your 30 pack of Bush-light in to thaw out under a heat lamp. Must be a Mid-west thing. We did not go this year--I must be getting old!---Tee P.S.--I see my dog post got poofed--people made it too political.

Hey T maybe if you quit pulling tractors you could afford to buy good beer! The reason Busch freezes is because it's all water.

Busch light? Well, at least you can pee it right back in the can with no noticeable difference in quality. Your last thread was too political - starting with your post.

The Beer effectively removes the equivalent of three of those weights from the rack. Use heavy brew like Summit EPA. Jim

Busch light isn't a midwest thing... it's a cheap thing. :)

Here in the land of cheese and beer, Busch light is a kin to being on food stamps.

Does the beer get skunky under that lamp? Your dog post was fine. People are just too thin skinned.

I think it is sad when it is so cold out side it will frizz any thing. I have to admit I like your shop. Did you know Beer and diesel engines go together.

Thanks though. I down loaded the picture . How true. I lost one of my old out door cays due to the cold last night. Amazing she has lasted this long. Poor old Scruffer.

Busch and Old Milwaukee were favorites years ago but never "lite" beer. still won't touch it unless there is no other alternative.

Thanks Brent--I think beer goes good with about anything. Yeas and years ago before I got married in the one bar in town the lady made rolls or donuts for the morning coffee crowd, well I was part of the evening happy hour crowd and after 7 o-clock she would give the leftover pastries away. Donuts and beer--not bad!---Tee

Hey 4520--did you ever hear the joke that had the beer named "Passion by the sea"---Tee

The ASPCA may have been contacted because the dog was compared to those others in the meme.

Gee I never thought about that. I should try it. I remember one day in a Auto class our teacher was explaining to us about Diesel and engines. he said a true fact is that a beer company had went to Germany bought some diesel engines for the beer plant in U.S.A. did not know that they burned coal ash and put out a lot of emission. so they worked on them to burn oil and that is how we got the diesel engine. so he said when you work on it have a beer. Now we where to young to drink beer so we drank a soda instead. My dad got mad when he said your teacher said but I said well you drink it there is nothing wrong with his statement we all thought he was joking. Find out it is a true statement.

Nothing wrong about the post, but to make it more of a bi-partisan thing you could have included a pic of the grabber-in-chief. Regular Busch ok, lite awful. Bud Lite best.

BUD----Did you what caused the shortage of Budweiser beer??---Some of the Clydesdales died.---Tee

I would like to, but we were there 15 years ago and I know how much walking there is and my knees are bone on bone so probably not.---Tee

I am 45 min away and have not been there in 10 years. It sure is a lot a walking but I hate the crowds worse. ( no fan of thugville in general)

I always thought Busch was for the high class people - Natural Light is the cheap beer.

I'm thoroughly convinced the only reason you "beer snobs" drink that pale ale sludge that tastes like silage juice smells and ponder over its "nutty aftertones" is because you are too proud to admit that you think it tastes horrible.

Take a sip, grimace, gag, some dribbles out your nose, swallow with much difficulty, then smile and "Ahhhhh! Refreshing!"

if it's available in a 30 pack, it's cheap beer, like wine in a box

Not a fan of busch lite but how the hell do people drink corona beer ? and they have to advertise it that its cool to put lime in there skunk beer just so you can drink it😢

coonieminnie Are you near Oconomowoc in the land of beer and cheese? Always wondered if you were referring to the Oconomowoc mascot.

I was going to ask about the dog, and comment on the subject of this thread maybe getting you in trouble if taken the wrong way, but that's all in fun and and might not help this thread live either....

So I'll just grab a -good- cold one and enjoy the afternoon.

I might be a bit biased, since I live on the road the beer is named after, the barley is grown a few miles down the road from me, and the beer is brewed in town a couple miles the other direction from me.

Good stuff tho, has some flavor, not just colored water. :)

Second oldest family owned brewery in the country, New Ulm, MN.

They made it through prohibition with soda pop, the 1970s they really slowed down and almost went under, then they re created their identity and caught on wth the micro brewery type of beers, tho they are far from a micro.

Then they invested wisely and bought up the names of a few beers that were popular and from other brewery's here in New Ulm, and havereally strengthened themselves.

They makes several full character seasonal brews, makes a nice rotation as you go through the year.

They just spend a half million dollars on referbishing the "Grain Belt" sign up in the tWin Cities, and had a ceremony last weeek relighting it. That is a popular beer up in the Cities that they bought the rights to a couple decades ago and reintroduced it.

Fort Road Helles is an attempt to get in on the 'buy local' fad and so they are trying to source ingredients right here. They spent a few years with upthe U developing a barley that grows here and has the flavor and qualities needed. They are hoping to get more local hops, as that market is growing in the area. And so forth.

Paul--that is where I saw that name before--Schells. My post this last Summer I told the story of my wife's brother bringing me that 12 pack of Grain Belt longneckers when he went fishing in Minn. Well we had Christmas here this year and I saved 2 of them and got 2 frosty mugs out of the freezer and we drank the last 2. Wasn't bad.---Tee

Mapleton- Where the Tuppers used to make that great aged brick cheese. Went to school with the two kids. Certainly not kids any more. Lost half a load of small bales going under the railroad bridge there.

Hey Tee- over here they call that a "Case of Domestic Violence".

Paul- I got my first Helles Road from the bar across the street from Schmidt's Meat Market in Nicolette. I should have gotten more than one! I wonder if we can hook Shell's up with the hops growers over here in SWMI- Hop Head Farms has over 500 acres ready for production this year

Firebrick, Snowstorm, Goosetown, they all have a pretty good flavor. I like the sampler pack.

The owner got bored, so they started growing grapes out on their place, then put in a little cave/ awning, and have weekend wine and pizza days.

Then they looked at the old old vats they tore out of the brewery, built a warehouse on the other end of town, put the vats in, and are brewing 'sour mash' there, kinda chunky beer, some are very like a wine cooler. They very minimally advertise the warehouse deal, set it up like a speakeasy and you are on the concrete floor, on wood picknick benches, a neat but small bar area. In amongst the vats. They call it 'Starkeller.'

So they have really branched out and expanded things.

They have a really big party at the brewery in February, fire puts and beer and German food for a day. A cold minnesota mardis gras.

(quoted from post at 18:28:41 01/05/18) Limes are put into keep the flies away in Mexico.
Vito

In the 80's, the limes were there to wash the rust off of the top of the bottle, and then thrown away. The Commifornia yuppies couldn't figurer it out....
