Our pump house burned in the Nuns Fire here in Sonoma County. I need to construct a new one. For obvious reason, I am rather
turned off by wood construction (the old building construction). It is a small building, 6x6 on an existing concrete slab. I
would like to construct it out of metal and I would like to have at least one wall and the roof easily removable to be able to
service the well without destroying the structure. What type of construction would you employ and how would you build it. It
needs to be reasonably economical. We seldom have weather below 30 degrees F. 20 is the coldest I've seen here. Thank you.

If it where me I would do it with rock and concrete that way a fire is a whole lot less likely to take it away again. While metal will not burn it will melt and In a fire I have seen metal building fall faster then a wood building does and well a rock on will stand even in a fire

Home depot lowes etc. sell metal studs and pole building siding/roofing. You could use that and screw it all together. It would come apart easy.

Are there any metal building suppliers near you?

Most are customer friendly, will work with you on design.

They have worked out the most economical system of construction, yet provide a durable product.

There are Youtube videos of metal building construction. If you familiarize yourself with the concepts, look at available components online, then go to the showroom, ask questions, get quotes.

They can provide weld up, or bolt together framework. Sounds like you would want bolt together for ease of access.

Does this building house just a pump? Or does it also cover the well? What type of well? dug or drilled? what type of pump? jet or submersible? Does it also house a bladder tank? How big?
