Anybody still use one of these John Deere 125 skid loaders? I'm looking at one its got new tires. It's diesel. Bucket and forks. Are they any good? What bad points did they have? What's it worth? The guy is asking $5000

Its not a big steer. handy for smaller jobs. Would guess 4000 would be tops but it also would depend on condition. How long has he had it. if short period I would stay away from it. If its really nice, everthing working, no leaks, all gauges working and the guy can furnish some sort of a maintentance that has been done to it as it could be worth that. There was a local deere dealer that had a nice one for 2500 but it needed tranny work. that told me there may be a problem with some parts. Do a google search on the net. check the prices of parts. the motor most likely wont be a problem finding parts but the drive chain my be. do you investigation on it before you buy it. if you have any reservations then run away from it.

That machine is getting OLD. Some parts are hard to get. It was built by OMC for JD. The $5000 price is way high for around here. Your area maybe different. I would keep looking.

I agree with JD. Parts availability is going to be an issue, and there are much better, newer machines out there- that were not custom made made for a company by a company that is no longer in business.

Hi, I used to sell Gehl skid steers. I sold a pile of them. the Gehls were all hydraulic. 2 pumps, one for loader and one for traction motors. It has 2 T handles so you could eat a sandwich while driving it. No transmission. Ed Will Oliver BC
