Anyone know what ever happened to El Toro? He used to post pictures of a real nice looking Gilson garden tractor plowing a garden, and some big Tank testing vehicle. Haven't seen any postings by him in quite some time.

I've asked here and TT forums periodically asking about Hal, no one seems to know, maybe someone will this time.

Hopefully, doing well but I recall from his posts he was not a young man. I recall him talking about entering the service just after high school somewhere around the time of the Korean War or a little afterward. Time may have caught up with him.

Also what ever happened to the British guy that posted often? Derwin I believe, thought he was getting a mail order bride or something like that.

I always wondered about the mail order bride thing, seems creepy, he was my age late 50s, getting a 20 year old bride.

Well, it wasn't long ago some one did an age survey on the YT users. Don't remember exactly but it was around 66 if I remember correctly.( I usually don't.) My daily scan of the local newspaper obits reveals a lot of people I have outlived and I'm 67. I think it is very nice that these questions on the status of posters comes up. Ofcourse we know some get perturbed and leave the site, some crossed the line and were banned. But the old saying that "all of us are smarter/wiser/more experienced than one of us" is what makes this forum a sort of community. So yes we miss the input of others who we are accustomed to seeing. my thoughts. gobble

It has been a while.

Looking on modern view, the last post was in April. Hope he's OK.

The Gilson hasn't run in a good while. The hydro went out, don't think he ever fixed it.

If I remember right he was in his eighties. He would post quite a bit but it has been awhile. I hope he's ok??

I also can't remember his last name , and I did know it. He lived
about 15 miles from me in the town of bel air md. I went to see him
some years ago , he was in upper 70's or 80's then.

He probably got catfished! If he's lucky he just lost money or he could of woke up in an ice bath missing his kidneys!

Maybe ask this at the garden tractor forum? That's where he seemed to post the most. Wonder if he has a Mrs.?

Did Hal work for GE?

If yes, I found an obituary for a Harold "Hal" Bolinger who passed away September 2017 in PA (83 years old). Retired from GE and liked to work on motors.

Perhaps it's possible he and his wife moved from MD to PA to be near her daughter????

He lives about ten or fifteen miles from me and used to work for the gubmint at Aberdeen Proving Ground. I don't know his last name, but met him once. I kinda thimk he may have passed away....

No, wish I did. There were a lot of posts by El Toro (Hal) and I see more info was posted above. He often mentioned his career, army days and his gardening. He also mentioned his youth and roots in farming when he was young. I assumed given his age, he did pass away.
