Last Bale of 2017

I took this quick shot of the almost full super moon this evening as I was putting out the last hay bale of 2017. At -15F I didn't spend much time on focus and composition but it turned out ok I think.
You can just barely see the old Red River Special threshing machine on the hill in the distance.

I love your "winter front" on the tractor. For some reason I've always used a stash of old brown paper Purina feed bags with rubber straps. They
were handy at first and now it's kind of habit. I don't know what I will do when I run out - they don't sell hog or chicken base in paper bags
anymore. It's all that cheap thin plastic stuff. They might hold up to moisture, but not being roughed up. They all go straight to the trash burner
anymore. Maybe I need to start looking for some carpet scraps.

Do you mind me asking where this is at? I watched your video on starting at -22 and was amazed you had -37 the night before. Just curious, I understand if you would rather not say. Much different landscapes than what I am used to.

Thanks.

Just a piece of scrap carpet and a long stretchy bungee cord to hold it up. Along with a little baler twine :) Grey carpet matched the grey wheels and engine on the Massey too. Sure helps keep that ice cold air blast off the radiator and oil cooler.

On the modern view of the forum that I use most of the time I have it listed as S.E. Sask. Or some might say East central. Sort of between Yorkton and Regina in the parklands country. Not the Northern forests but not the flat open lands of the South either.

How much daylight are you down to? You have to have really short days now would think.

Regarding sunrise and sunset we are right about 9:00 to 5:00 at this point. Days are short, which is ok when they are this cold.
