I posted a couple of weeks ago about changing a Stanadyne pump from 1800 RPM constant speed to variable speed. I did purchase an engine, so I have some numbers to work with. The engine was a JD Re-man complete engine, so I assume the pump was rebuilt also. The constant speed pump:
MN: M9 DB4-627-4807
SN: 15160190
JD Part#: RE40409
I have 2 used variable speed pumps that I believe can be rebuilt. They are what I want to match, performance wise. Pump A:
MN:R2-DB4-4928
SN: 7112738
JD Part#: RE47057
Pump B:
MN: H3 DB4-627-4945
SN: 7580499
JD Part#: RE47137
Which makes more sense, change the constant speed pump to variable speed or rebuild one of the variable speed pumps? Thanks, Ron

Repair the 4928 or 4945, they have the correct advance and governor parts for 2500 full load use. The 4807 could be made to work but would need several parts changes, 3 degrees advance while the other two pumps have 7 degree advance parts.
