Sickle Grinder

I recently acquired a McCormick Deering Sickle Grinder that mounts on the wheel of a horse drawn sickle mower. It did not have the rod that you hold on to when manually moving the stone up or down. Does anyone know the length of it so I can make one? Also does anyone on here have a manual or parts book for this sickle grinder that could be e-mailed to me??

We have one and the rod is about 9". The manual is called 'McCormick-Deering (sickle bar) mower knife and tool grinder manual'. I don't have one, but that might help your search a little. Good luck!

There in the mower master parts manual that I have but do not know how to email anything except a letter.

9 inches by 5/8 inch diameter. Part number P 130 1/2

9"overall with one inch of threads. Diameter is 3/8" rod with the end sticking out rounded.
