favorite chrismas song

I've gotten to where I hate all Christmas music. The stores and radio start it before Halloween so I get burned out quick. When I was growing up almost nobody advertised Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I think that is the way it should be.

As the "season" gets rolling and commercialization goes into overdrive I try not to listen to any of it until a couple of days before. Then I listen for my favorites and am happy to hear them. Some from the Carpenters Christmas album, The original Santa Baby sung by Ursa Kitt, grandma gets run over, drummer boy just one time, i was in the grammer school chorus when that came out so I can still sing my part, a silly one Christmas wrappings by the Waitresses, Mannheim Steammroller, more traditional Silent night on and on. One time and pleasantly is good enough please. Don't need to hear it three hundred times. There is one from when I was a kid. Fred Warring and the Pennsylvanians The night before Christmas. On Decca Records.1954. Put a link for ya. The University of Utah version that is a couple down is nice too. Never knew there was a 1930s animated version. The one that really chokes me is Karren Carpenter with I wish I were with you. What a sad song. I better stop here. Oh PS that guy Fred Warring, yup he invented the blender too.

One of my all time favorites is "O Holy Night". Hard to beat that one.
And, as I mentioned in the other thread, as far as recorded music goes, Mannheim Steamroller and some of the stuff by Trans Siberian Orchestra.
