How many tractors

How many tractors does it take to do chores? Right now I am feeding real close to 1000 head. Have the MXU130 as a loader tractor. 1486 on the feed wagon. 5250 won't move, but runs good, so it stays on the grinder, and gets used everyday. The 7120 is on the bale processor to feed cattle in the hills.
I have about 2 hours between getting everything fed in the morning, eating some lunch and feeding at night. In that time I need to haul hay up closer to grind. Doctor anything sick, and haul up firewood, that never got hauled in during the summer.

On a feedyard or dairy? On the dairy we grind hay with a 4490 case run the feed wagon with a farmall 110a feed the dry cows with a New Holland tv140

Beef cattle. 700 head of calves on feed. 150 head of momma cows in the hills on grass, sorta, and another 150 on cornstalks.

All I know is that if you have to stop and unhook an implement you don't have enough tractors - that is what I tell my wife when she asks.

I could get by with two daily, but I use three most days. I load silage with the Oliver 1365,feed bales with the 1600 and use the 77 on the silage cart. I grind feed with the 1850 but only once a week, and haul manure with the White 2-105 when the manure isn't frozen.

Is that why I have this many garden tractors and want a couple of more? And there are a couple more up at the folks farm. I also have FIVE lawn utility trailers to go with them. You can never have enough toys. If you run out of storage space ... put up another shed!

I was using three tractors for haying up until four years ago. One on the Tedder, one on the rake, One on both the mower and the baler. That meant a lot of hooking and unhooking my biggest tractor. At least neither the baler nor the mower were three point.

For me one is usually all I need, but then I am only a hobby farmer with 11 head to look after. Earlier this week I had 2 going in one day but only because I had to move the 2090 out of the way to get the Cockshutt 50 out of the shed to run the hammer mill.
Fire up the Super 90 Massey every other day or so to move a hay bale into the feeder. A tank of diesel lasts me a long time in the winter.

I can get by with one good 4 Ed loader tractor with a cab. Blow snow, move silage to stationary feed mixer, move hay bales , and move manure from under the stable cleaner. Traded tractor averaged 400 hours per year, for the past 10 years. I do have a back up tractor, just in case.

I can get by with one if I have to. We feed once a week at each farm (2 farms, 6 miles apart). I can do it in a day if I need to. I prefer to use 2 though, one at each farm and a skid loader at each farm to load out hay for hay sales and scraping snow. But in a pinch one will suffice. I try to keep both 7610 Fords, with cabs and front loaders going, one at each farm. With the 4 wd one at the farm that I have to feed in 4 places. Other tractors typically stay put away until spring.

My cousin, until he got killed in an accident last summer, used mainly skid steers for chores. He had one in the grain house for loading grain one at the silos for loading the silage, and one for cleaning the barns. He usually kept a spare as well. He used a tractor for pulling the mixer wagon.
