And it is snowing, and more to come today and
tomorrow. This snowblower is built by one of the
many Martin Mennonite manufacturing companies
in south west Ontario. The last photo shows the
hydraulic motor that turns the shoot. Turns out
buying a new blower didn?t work to keep the snow
away, but I did get to go out and play in the snow
with my new toy.

Bruce, nice looking blower. Is there a defroster on the rear window of the Kubota? So far we are just receiving the northern edge of the snow storm. Most is staying to the south along the 401 Hwy.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
All the best in farming in 2018.

Got the old diesel truck out of semi-retirement, got it running and put the snowplow on it. We got 1/2 inch of snow. So much for the weather bureau weather warnings for last night. Stocked up on gasoline for the generators and backup snowplow tractor, today. If I keep ahead of it in preparations, do you suppose I can avoid a weather related catastrophe this winter? We're pretty well stocked for groceries. If the propane holds out we are good for quite a while.

Back in '78 we had a blizzard and huge hard packed drifts. The twp. tried to plow our road, even tried with a road grader and V plow on the front, couldn't do it, road stayed closed for a week. A farmer with a snowblower similar to yours is what finally conquered the drifts. It was a once in generation snow storm (I hope). Good looking rig you've got.

Nice, been shopping for a new blower and I was looking at the MKs. Local dealers sell about 6 brands/lines of new blowers.

All the MK they had were red, I read that black is the "factory" color though.

If it were mine I would paint it the same nice bright orange as your tractor. Looks as if it is going to be a lot of fun.
Now going back to around 1966 or 67 there was a totally awsum wizz bang of a blizzard on the east coast. Noreaster with an unbeleavable amount of wind and snow. You wouldn't beleave the drifting. My dad was able to get the lane open for the bulk truck but the truck had to come in the back way about ten miles around. On the other direction of the back road there used to be a hillock about 15 feet deep that the road cut through. Smooth flat fields on both sides and the wind blew directly west to east right across it. Want to guess?? Two days latter the big township truck was out there for maybe 1/2 hour and gave up. Just had one of those big curved blades on the front.
Now one of our neighbors was a pretty good mecanical wizz and so was one of his farm hands. Sometime that summer he had picked up a HUGE norther New York state Wing plow at some auction. They had mounted it up to some great big JOHN Deere diesel tractor just to do something nutty. Guess who managed to bust through that huge snow drift. My dad said he was backing up and musta bin hitting it doing 15 or 20 mph. Snow flying all over the place. Rodger and Dave.

At least you will always be able to see that black colour in the snow! Sharp looking rig, now reverse the seat in your tractor and you just might enjoy the job!
Looks like the heifers approve as well.

That's a nice looking blower. I picked up its cousin last winter - a 6' in orange to match a Kioti. Everyone said it wouldn't snow - I figured either way it'd pay for itself. I hope they put a more robust shear pin in the auger drive on yours, they don't seem to last for me. Have a Merry Christmas. Sam

The dealership where deal gets them 6 foot and smaller in the Kubota orange, and bigger blowers in a ? neutral ? colour, so the JD and CaseIH guys can buy them too. You can order them in any colour you want, just like Alo loaders
