Was wondering, Me I have to many. Some work on a couple trucks, Equipment trailer, an allis and a Deere to finish. Plus a whole bunch of small things. Good news is I finished an oliver couple weeks ago.

Oliver 500 diesel orchard.

I have an Oliver 70 in the shop. By the time I get done with it, I will be broke. Everything that could go wrong did at least three times. This will be the most expensive tractor that I have by the time I get done. Have to keep going on it though. I have a model 72 two way mounted plow to put on it when I'm done and it only fits a 70.

As cheap as those 70s are,you should have just kept buying them until you had a good one. lol

Am in the process of putting heat in my hangar but been sidetracked with another project. Got involved with a friend and we are building about four 22 target rifles and will be selling two of them to offset all the cash we have wrapped up in the other two. He's been supplying the wood and laminating and I've been doing all the machining on the actions.

Next into the shop is an Allis Chalmers I-400, Slips out of 2nd gear and makes an awful noise when going in reverse and many oil leaks. Should be interesting

Right now a MM RTI with Lull loader. This is a restart of a stalled project from a few years ago. Want to finish it so I can use it around the house.

The winter project for the last 6 years. It is taking a lot longer than it should. Life priorities keep this project at a snails pace but I am going to finish it before I retire in 3 more years.

Well I started out with a few projects and the weather was so nice this fall I dont have much left -- so when the weather gets bad I will just stay indoors or go to town for coffee -- retired at its best -- Roy

Have an M5 that Im in the process of overhauling and fixing up a few things on. Also making some reproduction battery covers for MMs.

Would really like tinker a bit with a Briggs and Stratton Model B I bought about 8 years ago. Got a bunch of drywall to finish mudding in the house. Also want to build my daughter a twin bed. Maybe go ice fishing a little. Put my brother-in-law's A-C CA back together and get it running. Mrs. Minnesota wants me to do all this so I can get the MM GTB into the garage and start fixing.

Replace head gasket on my D19 Allis. Repair rust in front of the rear wheels on my Dodge Caravan. Replace the rocker panels, cab corners, and rear wheel arches on my 2000 Chevy pickup. Replace the main and rod bearings on one of my H Farmalls to see if it helps the oil pressure. Replace the rear wheel arches on a '78 Chevy pickup box trailer to use as a replacement box on my '78 Chevy 4X4 snowplow pickup, looking ahead to restoring the cab after the snow season is over next spring. The list goes on.

If I'm lucky, I'll get a couple of them done before spring.

Repairing and some light renovations to our travel trailer for next summer's tour. The tractors can wait.

Rusty6,

You need to look up an Alan Jackson
song on youtube: "Crazy Bout a Mercury" :)
It'd make nice background music to a drivin' video.

If I had money, tell you what I'd do,
Go downtown and buy a Mercury or two.
Crazy bout a Mercury,
Lord I'm crazy bout a Mercury...

Hoping to start on my 64 Ford 4 cylinder 4000 S-O-S retirement project soon.

I have an extremely low hour 192 CI converted NG (high compression) engine for it that should be good for about 65 PTO HP.

Need to overhaul the S-O-S (works great but I'll overhaul it while it's out) and the PS control valve.

I've got a nearly new set of Ford PA rims, a new set of six loop rims, a set of dual wheel adapters and 6 new tires and tubes for it.

Once upon a time, I planned to use it for a 6' mowing tractor (withut the duals) but I've since made the switch to Kubota so I no longer have plans to use it. Still, it should be fun.

The "730" and the Case loader are going into the shop next month, bought it this past fall, plan to get it running, and do some improvements on the loader.

Replace manifold, 12V conversion, tune up and oil changes on an 8N and timing belt, idlers, water pump and hoses on a '10 Subaru Forester with 208,000 plus miles..

You are right and I''ve already done it last year. Alan Jackson does the best version of what has become my favourite tune. Please don't even mention the Steve Miller version which I can't stand.
Have a listen and watch me and some friends wandering around the car show while I forgot the camera was even running. :)
Merc At The Car Show

A couple little projects. The brake job and axle seal replacement and front axle work on the 1086 is done. The Case is 95 percent done, nothing major there too. Next is a paint job on a Deere B, also, making a receptionist desk/counter for the threshing show and seven benches made from old church kneelers.
This will probably drag on into the summer tho.

Those fudgen with a tractor are lucky I have had the hammer down since about the first of November on my F250 Power-stroke pulled the heads found a bad problem. I got a replacement engine in and made smoke last Friday then moved on to the arse end replacing the fuel tanks every thing has been a nightmare... I hope to be done with it tomorrow and don't want another project for awhile!

1800 is completely torn apart for a full restoration. Which is supposed to be done for September. Fix Hydraulic issues and leaks on the 1600, and replumb the fuel system. Fix the brakes on the forklift along with the brake fluid leak and hyd leak. I am sick of it leaking all over my shop and driveway. It still has to be the best 1000 bucks ever spent! We use it all the time.

In the last year, I restored a Rope Bed that has been in my family since 1853, My 1947 Schwinn bike that I have owned for 71 years. I weighed 222 about 18 months ago, Today I hit 169 with out trying to lose weight, the Doctors can"t figure out why. My current project is building my own custom fit casket. I will be 81 12-21-17, Any one else built there own casket?

I am still on the same Datsun roadster as nearly three years ago.
mvphoto7837.jpg

I hope to be done by this summer and then my Oliver 70 right behind it is up.

Right now I have a Case 444 in the garage, engine overhauled and maybe I'll get it back in the tractor within the next couple of days. When it's done I'll put a snowblower on it. After that one, there's a Case 446 waiting out in the shed. That one will get a snowblower in the winter and a mower in the summer.
I don't do full size tractors anymore I've found I can get at least 2 garden tractors in the space of a full size tractor. Although, my son does have a Farmall F20 at his shop that I may go down and work on on the warmer days.

This winter's project is another 8N flathead rebuild.
A 1952 side mount which will be nearly 100% new when done.
I hope to have it installed in the tractor and running by February.

7839.jpg

I hope to finish my D17 Diesel pulling tractor. Had it together this year but spun a main bearing. Put a 426 from a 7045 in it. Hoping to bore and stroke it to 600 plus cu in. But now it takes cubic dollars.LOL

I've got this in mine. It runs and drives around the yard, but not really roadworthy right now. Plans are to get working turn signals, wipers, etc. in order, plus it needs a muffler, and some work on the brakes and charging system. I want to get it to where I can drive it out on the road if I so choose.

Anybody know of a cheap 8 or 9 ft. flatbed within driving range of southern Minnesota?

With amount of snow that gets in my shop I'll just stay inside and work on my eldest daughter's 'nightmare' quilt.

I started cleaning up around the shop, carrying some things up to the storage loft, when I realized there was no floor space left up there. Time to build some shelves. Well, if I put up shelves, there should be some interior walls behind them, to keep stuff from falling down the back side. If I'm going to frame up interior walls, might as well insulate them and sheath them, then I can use the loft area for spray dope/paint storage and keep it from freezing. Well, if you're going that far, better run some electric outlets and move the light switch...

IF all that nonsense gets finished, there is the new gearbox for the flail mower, finish the cab re-install/rehab for the narrow spray tractor, brakes on the IH grain truck, service for all the tractors before spring, building a narrow vineyard chisel plow, the 40 needs some steering help.

No sense building any caskets here, I've got work to do of the next 50 years, it seems.

In the large shop I need to replace a few augers in the 9500, the 7720 need a new separator drive belt. The 4020 need the break valve rebuilt. 4840 need a new cab interior, The 4230 and 4250 both need new batteries.
On the small side I have my wife's grandpas TO30 that's been setting for years to get running, the old F350 needs breaks and the gator has shifter problems(POS!).

I have a pile of stuff to work on, but these are the 2 big ones.

First is a 6.8L Deere out of a big brush chipper. The "oil" in it was about 99% diesel and it seized. I had to build an engine stand capable of holding it first.

Second is a 940 Mustang skid steer. Started on this about 4 winters ago. I got sidetracked with a house addition and remodel. I have the same machine with somewhere around 10,000 hrs on it. Everything between the drive motors and wheels is just plain worn out. About $3000 worth of parts. It's still plugging along, but who knows for how long. I started going through this one buying used or discouted parts off ebay. Making some of my own drive sprockets, etc... When it's done, I'll transfer my engine, boom, and cab. And hopefully have a machine that will last as long as I'll need it.

One of my sons wants a dump trailer. He borrowed my daughter's little dump and decided he should have one too only bigger. Lol. I also have my 1030 to put back together.

Pulled the 36 big truck out of the lean to on the granary where it's spent to many years and am hoping to get the front end sheet metal off to facilitate general clean up and rewiring. It runs like a champ...

I have many a project but NO winter projects as the Maple tree in front yard shop is too hard to heat and also to much wind and snow getting in. What small shop I have I would have trouble getting a hay rake in. Also expencive to heat. And I don't take to cold very well at 74,

Not mine. One of my son's 75 camaro with late model 6 litre.Turbocharger and aftermarket fuel injection.

Not really working in the shop, but currently working on a project of sewing up canvas engine covers for my Oliver 1650. As the tractor sits outside all the time, making these covers to keep the snow/icy rain and wind off the engine and hopefully keep some heat in when I am trying to warm the tractor up to start and use.

Sounds like a very worthwhile plan.

Hobo, did you get a used running engine, or
a shortblock? Either way, been wondering
how it's been going with it.

Yes Nik, they were called Fairladies but they quit putting that name on them a couple years earlier. This one is a 1967 311 1600.

Got a used engine, replaced glow plugs, put my injectors in with new o-rings, new coolant parts, rear main seal, swamped oil pans, updated the dipstick adapter in the pan, rebuilt turbo did a EBPV delete, went with a 3" down pipe, rebuilt the filter canister/fuel pressure regulator, re-sealed the oil cooler. I got to do about everything twice so got good at it

Both fuel tanks junk along with the filler necks and fuel pick up assy... Installed new tanks all the rest is NLA so had to restore those parts... All that's left is nit-pic stuff like the high beam indicator in the cluster does not work... I removed the original spare tire and put a new one in its place I may as well break the bank while I am at it.

What do I have to do this winter? good question. Last year at this time I got all nine farm tractors move 290 miles to there new home. Each one had to be move by themselves (just thinking about this makes me feel tired). This year is the winter to draw up a work shop in the back and get blues prints made. Then find a contractor that will do permits and fight the Mono county board. So far I have figured out a 100 foot by 100 foot shop with 15 foot high ceilings. All my tractors are out side, all my work can not be done with out this shop and today was high winds then some snow. So winter is time to think Work shop any suggestions will help. I am ready to hear them.

Brent, The best thing that I like about my shop is that despite being in NH it is very reasonable to heat. This is partly because it is fully insulated but more because most of the building is kept at 40 degrees while my "inner room" is kept at fifty and bumped up when I go in. The overall building is 40x50x17. The inner room which is in a corner is 16x22x10. I can fit pretty much anything in there, then close the door and keep the heat in. The inner room is insulated yet the heat that escapes keeps the rest of the building above 40 degrees most of the time.

Cool video. Thanks for posting.
Mine is actually an S-150, and it's been a LONG time since it looked as nice as yours.
Does yours have the 5 speed? Mine does--double clutching is a must.

Well SV, since you lived to post the picture we know that you put the loader down before continuing the job. If there is anything that we all know from YT, your tractor will tip over if you try to do anything with it with the loader up,

Shop?? What's that? Wish I had one. I moved to town 16 months ago and the shop I HAD was 24 X 38 X 12 high. Man I miss that place!

Mine is just a four speed. No double clutching needed except going down to first. I think it had a repaint many years ago before I owned it. Only around 18,000 miles on it.

52 Case DC that is getting everything from the ground up. I have spent a few years collecting parts and now I'm getting started in earnest. The tractor is being restored in memory of my late son Kase.
