Ford backhoe help

I just got a ford 4500 backhoe(minus the backhoe attachments). I was planning on using to push brush and small projects on the farm. With the back of off and bucket weight, not safe to use on any grade. What can I do?

Wheel weights
Load the tires
Put something heavy on the 3 point if so equipped
Make sure you know what the nut behind the wheel is doing.

I had the same trouble with my 580CK Case. I strapped a steel 50 gallon drum on back and filled it with concrete. Worked great.

Does it still have the main frame it. You can use the lower pad hooks as a hanger. Fab up a box, hang it on the hooks, and pour it full of concrete .

First thing is to load the tires with fluid. Besides giving more stability, the added weight gives the tires a better/hiever foot print. A loader with no wt(s) on the rear is like a 'hog on ice'.Hang as much wt as you can on it.

Hi, when I was a kid maybe 70 yrs ago we had several tractors, one was a Ferguson model 20/85. We used a
45 imperial gallon barrel filled with water for weight on 3 pt . Ed Will Oliver B C

My 4500 didn't have the hoe, with loaded tires and 10 wheel weights it still got light in the rear with a full bucket.
As other have said make some brackets to hang a barrel on the frame where the hoe attaches and fill it with weight, concert works best, sand, scrap steel.
Without loaded tires mine wouldn't back up a grassy slope with a empty bucket.

Do you still have the r4 backhoe tires on the rear?? If you can find some R1 tractor rears- fill them with fluid or use weights you will have an lot better traction.
