Here we go again

One of our customers called yesterday and said they have 300 more trampolines they need delivered across the US by Christmas. My boss just laughed at him and said sorry; to late to guarantee delivery by Christmas.

We took a bunch but not all that were in our 1 day service area because we have time to schedule the residential delivery on these.

Happens every year.
People think they are the only one ordering items so they feel they can wait to the last day to order online.

Sad the kids will have to pay for the parents screw up.
The horror stories I could tell you.

What'd ya mean, we can't have it as soon as we click the 'order sent' icon?! What kind of company are you?! Man, if people could see what's involved in getting something to their door, they'd be a LOT more grateful. Heck, right now, our mail gets here between 5:00-7:00, depending on how many packages she's delivering, normally about 2:00-3:00 is when mail runs. People need to grow up a bit. End of rant. Thanks!

Had that problem all the time in field service. Get the call need you here now. Call comes in at 4 on friday afternoon. Site is three hours away and when you get there. First thing you hear is how much and is this overtime.

A lot of people are selfish, self absorbed, a-holes, that don't think or care about other people. Lots of people aren't like that, but I sure have seen a lot that are.

I said at thanksgiving, now this year I'm gonna start emailing people my Christmas howdy early.

Hope I start in on that soon....

Sigh.

Does the meaning"Portal to Portal" still apply? I had to go on a Sunday call out to a corporate restaurant about two and a half hours each way. Told the manager that the equipment is only warranty for weekday calls. He basically told me to get my AS..... out there. Well Monday rolled around and this pompous idiot had to pay for a fifteen minute repair and five hours travel out of HIS PAYCHECK. People are morons.

I'll start looking out the window tomorrow for something I ordered on-line today.
No clue where it's coming from but no reason shouldn't be here by then LMAO
Honestly if it's here by next Friday like Amazon said I'll be excited this time of year.
Happy christmas to ME!!! :)

Within the last week, yesterday included, I realized that our USPS is running 2 route folks with separate vehicles running deliveries. The first comes at the regular time and handles letters and small shipping envelopes. The second truck (4 door Jeep) comes by later with genuine packages. This covers the increased workload for the holiday season and also puts the delivery late in the day when a lot of folks have arrived home from work......prevents/reduces theft.

Couple days ago I saw where UPS is offering same day delivery on the 25th. So what is the matter with the rest of the slugs?

I dunnno. I ordered several items last night about 1900 hours on Amazon and they will arrive this afternoon - yes, shippers, including USPS, deliver on Sunday for Amazon. If people are willing to pay the price then the shippers should accommodate, even if they have to hire temporary help, rent trucks, or otherwise go out of their way to get the jobs done.
