Seriously Stuck

The "stuck video" I posted yesterday was not too seriously stuck cmpared to this one from March 8 of 2014. In this picture the old GMC is half buried in the ditch after I slid off the road at maybe 40+ mph. The road did not have much snow but a layer of packed ice in one sheltered spot. The ice was packed into slight ruts and I must have got slightly misaligned in the ruts and suddenly I was going slightly sideways down the gravel road (on ice) I knew there was no recovery from this one so just planned my exit to hit the ditch head on and not sideways. You can see how the snow was pushed into the wheel wells from the impact. It was a pretty hard pull for the little Belarus front wheel assist tractor but he got me out eventually without tearing the bumper off the truck.

(quoted from post at 18:26:47 12/10/17) The fun time on the snow!!! LOL
My only regret is that I didn't have a camera running at the time of this incident. It would have been pretty spectacular. Total white out when that big old square front end hit the deep snow in the ditch. I had to dig snow out from around the engine fan as it had plugged and stopped it. Probably a good thing the 170 gallon water tank in the box was empty.

With the wheel wells like that, it looks
like my tandem plow truck when I get off
the edge of the road. Sure packs a lot of
snow under there if the underbody is down
and you have a front plow on. I hate being
pulled from the front where you can watch
our 8 inch recovery straps seemingly double
in length. I always duck my head below the
dash lol. Glad you got her out before she
froze in!

Don't remember seeing any photos of the Belarus.....must be used for special occasions. Keep
the photos coming. I always enjoy them.

That was actually the neighbour's tractor from right near where I slid off the road. Lucky.
