Thanks for the prayers

Thanks for the prayers--5 years ago today-. I asked for them because I had just smoked my last cigarette. Today marks 5 years smoke free and I haven't ever wanted one since that day so that tells me that someone said a prayer that truly did work. I'm pretty sure that most if not all of you guys don't even remember, but I sure do. Thanks again guys. Keith

My congrats to you for your success!! One of my biggest pet peeves has been people that smoke, then they bi""h about no money or how bad they feel. Daddy died of lung cancer in'91, smoked all his life and Mama in 2000, she smoked and had all kinds of respiratory ailments. You're a good man, Keith!

Keith,

That stopping smoking is a real difficult ordeal. I know. I have not thought about smoking since I quit. hope you experience the same.

Congratulations!

That is one of the few habits I haven't had to break, but I hear it's a real monster!

My dad smoked himself to an early death. Having grown up around it, I never noticed the smell until I got out on my own. So, not only have you done yourself a huge favor, all those around you are grateful too!

When I see the young'uns at work, looking tough and cool with their cigarettes and esmoke things, I just want to slap them!

That is very good news Keith. I quit drinking almost 5 years ago. Wasn't easy and I didn't think I could do it. I hope I have the same results as you.

Glad you kicked the habit. It is a hard thing to do. You have to really want to kick it. My wife smokes and has all kind of health issues. She does not really want to quit so me bitching about it does not help much. LOL

Good on you Kieth! Not an easy habit to break. I've been smoke free 31 yrs now. Ed Will Oliver BC

Glad you found the strength to stop. Have a cousin that stopped a few years ago after having a severe stroke, DR. said quit, or you won't be around much longer..

I had my last cigarette 53 years ago last February. People who say they want to stop smoking and can't, just haven't had the proper motivation to quit.

I was smoking a pack and a half a day when I met my wife. On our second date, she admitted that she is allergic to tobacco smoke. I took a pack of cigarettes out of my shirt pocket, threw it into a nearby trash can, and haven't touched one since.

Good for you. I quit 10 years ago and have wanted one every day since. I should have done the prayer method instead.

I quit drinking in 1959 and I was like John Wayne I would walk a mile for a Camel. I got sick of coughing and I had just got a new Ford hi cab H 1000 and I said it's time to quit and I threw the pack out the window. I could show you the spot where I threw them out. That was Nov. 1964 and never to smoke or drink again. Don't tell Lu but I still sneak a chew some times. I usually keep a paper of Red Man Golden Blend in the glove box on the Golf Cart. LOL

Congratulations Keith, been a bit over 25 years for me.It's one of the hardest things you'll ever do, but the most rewarding!

Hello Keith Molden,

COGRATULATION! I recall answering some one about how I had stopped.....COLD TURKEY! Was that you?

Guido.

I love a good cigar every now and then but it?s not a habit I usually only smoke one every six months or so

July 30,1987, 3:00 in the afternoon. Finally got tired of following a pipe around. Wasn't easy but I did it. Haven't figured out how to quit drinking, but I'm working on it. Congrats.

Like smoking, quitting alcohol is a matter of resolve. 43 years ago (half my life) I asked the Lord to help me quit drinking and since that day have never even wanted another drink. Best thing I ever did, Every morning I wake up sober without a hangover and will go to meet my Maker sober, Thanks Lord. You can do it if I can. Just quit and walk away from temptation. Fil l your time with fooling around on a tractor Henry

Feb 7, 2001. That was my last one. I took up Hashing, 5K's, and Triathlons. Chest and lungs feel great! Knees and ankles, not so much. Couldn't have done any of it when I smoked. I'd have a real problem with this craft beer stuff if it were cheaper.

Good on ya, Keith.

Aaron

I honestly don't remember, but a lot of you guys sure supported me in my effort and it has worked for me. I think that my problem before was I really didn't want to quit. This time I decided I wanted to breathe more than I wanted a smoke. If it was you Guido, you do know I appreciated it don't you? Keith
