My tractor shut off without and sputter. I feel my injector pump has failed. I've been told there is a valve that can get froze so to speak. It requires a special tool I think to remove it. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the two screw timing cover on the side, after fuel stops running out see if the timing marked plate turns when the engine is bumped over with the starter. If it does align the timing marks, turning the engine by hand before the pump is removed for repair. If it DOES NOT turn, then the hydraulic head is most likely seized, and the drive shaft broken. Hate to see them come in for repair when that happens..

Post the complete model number on the pump tag. Most I see in for repair are three to four hundred for complete tear down, parts inspection, repair, calibration on test bench, and return shipping. Need to find out what shape yours is in first. Hopefully the hydraulic head is not seized and drive shaft broken. E-mail is open on Classic view for more info..

Have you checked wire that's suppose to supply 12 volts to fuel control solenoid in IP when ign switch is turned on? Do you hear a click sound at IP when ign switch is turned on?

I checked the wire that is on the pump if that's what u mean .
It is hot when key is on. Goes off when turn key off . I
checked to see if I'm getting fuel to pump. When I took line off
it gushes out when I turn it over. I took top line off of pump
that supplies the motor and I get no fuel coming out of pump
when I turn it over . This is all I know to check. Not sure if
that covers what u are telling me . Thank u for any help u can
give me

The top cover line is the fuel return line back to the tank. Won't be much fuel come out at cranking speed. Did you have a chance to see if the pump is turning inside yet?

No not yet. Wow didn't know that . Someone posted about a fuel solinoid ???? How can I check if pump is turning ?

Evidently you didn't read or possibly didn't comprehend what Dieseltech stated in his 1st reply. If you remove timing window cover on side of inj pump that he suggested to see if pump internals are turning when engine is turned over try to start engine with cover off or loose. Solenoid(key 9) is under cover

U are right Jim on the second observation. That I did not
comprehend .. I did read it. Out of respect for anyone
taking time to help me. I'm not mechanically minded . God
didn't bless me with that gift as he did u and others. What he
did bless me with was a heart to help struggling lives.
Especially kids. I'm a pastor and I work with kids who are on
drugs or come from broken homes. I get called out at
midnight to go to jail and other horrible situations. I've built a
lot of trust with these kids and their families. It's a horrible
struggle. I do comprehend that !!!!

I wish to commend you for what you do

I didn't intend to be rude or harsh. Yes I had many yrs of experience as have other members of this forum diagnosing tractor & equipment problems.

Please continue to ask questions & someone on this forum should be able to help you get your tractor running again.

Thank u Jim for all your help. It's just frustrating for a guy
like me who isn't good with his hands. I do try to fix my own
stuff lol. Prob cost me more in long run.
