Ford tractor

Dave, you have probably been told that narrow front tractors are very dangerous. MOST of us here will tell you that they are as safe as a wide front. That front pivot on your wide front will allow either of your rear tires to come waaaaaaay further off the ground than you want before it hits the stop. On a side slope it can easily be far enough to allow the tractor to go the rest of the way over.

If it was a 701 probably, 601 no as the 601 is a low utility type of tractor and could not have a narrow front put on. As the 901 is a row crop designed for the narrow front with the wide front as an option. You would need to look for a row crop tractor for it to fit. Just take a look at a picture of both a 601 and a 901 and you can see the differences.

I know someone who is putting a a narrow front 900 on a 600 so can it be done Probably but it's not just the front end you will have to change out and in your case the tractor would sit at an angle because
of the lower spindles on the 601.
Your 901 would have a detachable front pedestal so if you really what a wide front look for one off a 901.
