For that kind of money you can afford some surprises. However, you may be "pleasantly" surprised and the miss is something as simple as a dirty injector. Before I tore into it I'd do a good fuel (with fresh diesel). and crankcase (with fresh oil) "snake oil" treatment. I have a '63 2000D (30ish hp) Ford that I thought needed rings after all these years and about 3800 orig. hours but what I said above fixed her right up. I did have to do a couple of oil changes however. The snake oil flushed out it's ills and the oil got black immediately.....you know what that meant! Runs smooth and starts easy, even in cold weather, seldom use glow plugs, takes the throttle, really a "pleasant" surprise.

The only way to lose on that tractor is if it falls off the trailer.LOL You did great. Pull the valve cover and check the valves then pull the injecters and have them checked. Tom

A term used by a popular contributor to this site. Meant for fuel and oil additives of which he didn't agree to the usage. His stuff, his money, his opinion. Same goes for me and not looking back.
