sometimes the eggs are cheaper,,last week I got free range brown eggs for 99 per dozen,we dont need any this week

You have to watch out on the chicken breast. Some are 15% "solution" which amounts to being soaked up with salt water to increase the weight without giving you more meat.
Personally, I don't buy any chicken that is pumped up with "solution." If I am buying chicken, I want true and honest measure at a fair price.
One thing that I have noticed over the years...
The price of chicken wings has gone way up from 39 cents a pound to over $3.50 a pound while the price of the breast has gone down from $4.00 per pound to around $2 most of the time.
 
I know what you mean! we spend at least that much and we don't buy meat,chicken,eggs and do our corn and green beans.. With 5 kids the food sure disappears fast.
 
Same here. Grow a big garden,can and freeze a ton. Got chickens. We are the weird family that buys 25-30 lbs of flour. Cashier always asks what we gonna do with all that flour! Can't believe folks still bake.
 
Sure glad some of you are enjoying low beef prices. I took 4 cull milk cows to the sale barn last week, 2
brought .30 a pound , one brought 36 , and the other 48. Yes these where just old Jersey milk cows, and
no they weren't just bags of bones , they all were in nice shape. Cull cow market sucks. Eat up and enjoy
the cheap meat while you can. Once the beef producers go broke , things will change....
 

We quit shipping our called out cows to the sales. Every time we do the price goes south.
These are Holsteins they go for a hamburger cow & that's the only way we can break even.
Hate to destroy a decent cow, just can't keep them all. Most of the time we have a waiting list.
