Some Old John Deeres

I think I took this picture about 1990 helping a friend bring home a couple of old D tractors. He drove the 3020 pulling up front while I steered the one with a steering wheel. And I suppose applied braking action when and if it was necessary. I don't recall it being a very eventful trip so guess there were no problems. Kind of a cool fall day as I recall. Maybe a four mile trip. I had borrowed the hitch off the old Red River Special threshing machine to use as a solid link between the two D tractors.

Nice, looks like fenders for the steel wheeled D in the loader bucket.

Yes, fenders for the steel wheeler were off so we tied them in the bucket to get home safely. When I think of all the other stuff that we didn't save from that yard, I just shake my head. It went to the scrap iron buyer. I remember a Minneapolis combine and a truck or two.
