Susan update

There were complications from Susan's surgery. The reconstruction itself was a success...BUT the surgeon went too deep. 'Punched' a 2MM hole through sinuses and allowed air to go into her brain causing bruising on the brain. The were successful in removing the air off the brain and Susan is now improving. I spent days with her in ICU and a couple days with my family in Fort Collins. She may be able to come home or a rehab center in 4-5 days. Thank you for all the prayers and concerns. I will be back online when I'm back to my own computer. Thanks,

A two hour 'routine' out-patient procedure has turned into a nightmare....We are 300 miles from home,and I am afoot.

Will sure keep praying for Susan... and for you too. Sorry you guys are having to go through all of this. Hope everything turns out well for Susan.

Recovery is normally about an hour. However after 6 hrs of not wakeing up,they decided something might be wrong.It was.......5 days in ICU. Just tonight got transfered to the 'floor'.Room 1114......My birthday!LOL
 
Wow, this is quite a turn of events, I sure hope things start to work out better for your wife. I have had some firsthand experience with IUC , and "out patient surgery" with me own wife. It is very important , I have found , to be there to advocate on your wife's behalf. To make certain that they are getting the care that is needed, and not getting rushed out the door. Lets hope Susan has turned the corner now, and is on the road to recovery , and better health and vision. Bruce
 
Sorry to hear of the complications. My thoughts go out to you and Susan. Hope things will turn out for the best, and you both get back home, and back into a normal routine.
