I have a 1949 LA Case tractor with independent hydraulic wheel brakes that need the master cylinder rebuilds does anyone know what make of cylinder case used on these so can start looking for rebuild parts
Thanks
Paul

If it is a cylinder built for Case, there should be a casting number on it.

A good, old school auto supply, possibly an equipment or truck supply, can cross that number.

Being that age, chances are it will be rust pitted beyond just honing and replacing the seals. If a new one can be found, all the better.

Or, the old one can be resleeved, a specialty service avaliable for those that are no longer available.

Richard now that you think your brain is working to make half right decisions would you possibly remember whether they were 1? or maybe 7/8? bore as I have yet to remove either of them I replaced the brake cylinder rubbers a few years ago and not sure got the right adjustments on the brakes as they worked well but had to pump them a couple times so thought either bypassing or master cylinders needing a rebuild also one of the metal filler caps has corroded and is almost dissolved afraid to try removing until I take off the tractor thought would be a good time to repair properly as planning to fix a few oil leaks and fender rotted away at battery mounting plate thanks again for all your advise off to car quest on Monday see what might be able to find out about repairs
