Rear Tractor Tire Switch

The tire store has closed, I have a quick question.
Will 18.4 x 30 rear tractor tires fit on 15" rims which currently have 16.9 x 30 tires on them?
Thinking snow chains for the 16.9 tires would also fit the 18.4's with a bit of adjustment.

Yes, both will fit. 16 inch rim would be better, but lots of 18.4s are on 15 inch rims. Ben

Tire chains, you?ll have to build extensions a couple of feet long.

Tire and Rim Mfg. Association determines standards that tires and rims should be built to. The 15 inch wide rim is the approved alternate for the 18.4x30 tire, 16 inch is the approved rim.
