Gasoline/fuel taxes

This is in response to 37 Chief's complaint about gas taxes. I get a big portion of my gas taxes refunded by just downloading a form from the state and filling it out and sending in receipts. I just have to list what I have for off-road vehicles. Does your state do this?

Farm diesel is dyed red and supposed to be 40 cents per gallon lower than road diesel as that's the fed and state tax. However, when one
of the two stations selling FD closed amazing how the differential went to 30 cents and now it's only 20 cents......good old greed.

Back in the '60's I kept a log of the fuel I put in my boat. When I got a book full of receipts I attempted to cash them in.....big hassle
(naturally) so I just blew it off.....just what they wanted me to do.

farm del bulk diesel is .50 cheeper than on road, filled my tanks mid summer for fall use at $1.79

Consider yourself lucky.

Only one station in my area, and the differential is $.10.

Only about $.10 difference here at the stations that sell FD, but when the bulk truck fills my tanks it's $.40-50 cheaper.
Stations are ripping everyone off.

Here's the funny thing in my area - back when we had fuel delivered, it was actually cheaper to buy it at the pump! :shock: That was many years ago, though.

When I still heated with oil I could buy diesel at the station with all the taxes included cheaper than I could get heating oil delivered to
the house. It's almost the same fuel so the delivery charges were what brought the price up. I concluded I was getting gouged.
