Is Ford parts, and Motorcraft parts the same thing? Reason is: I priced brake pads from the local Ford dealer for 105.00 I found Motorcraft pads for about 1/2 the price on the internet. How come there is so much difference? Stan

Without knowing what you needed them for?? Example 2010 F250/F350 4X4

OEM Brake Pad Bc3Z2001F retail 104.49

Motorcraft Heavy Duty 86.98

Motorcraft Standard duty 58.49

Motorcraft Cheap Duty 58.49
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Motorcraft ##'s BRF1333 & BRSD1333 & BR1333 & NBR1631

Dealer Cost $57.47 OEM
"" $47.84
"" $32.17
"" $42.57

Dealerships have more support than a Storehouse On Line.

That's the difference I am probably seeing the cheaper ones on the net. Thanks for the info. I am still working on my 02 E450 front brakes now. Just as time permits. Too much other stuff going on. Stan

To my knowledge, Ford and Motorcraft are the same.

Not unusual to find the same parts way lower than the dealer.

Just have to watch what you are ordering, check the part number carefully.

As far as I know, they're the same. It's all in the marketing. When I was a Ford Service Manager, I found an independent parts source that would sell us Motorcraft batteries for about half of Ford's price.

Ding! Ding! Ding!
We have a winnah here, folks!

There are several different lines of Ford parts, especially something like a Ford ball joint and a Motorcraft ball joint. There is a difference in some items like this, but in an area like an oil filter, the quality will be the same.
Let me look up the quality numbering system and get back to you guys.

I ordered a cam sensor off Ebay last week for $23,dealer price $140. Bosh alternator the week before $130,NAPA $256,dealer $380. I order something off Ebay or Amazon at least weekly, difference in price is unbelievable.

Ford parts are different than Motorcraft, same goes for AC delco, Mopar etc.

There is not always an option, like fluids, filters, spark plugs etc, but when it comes to brakes (rotors/pads) there is a difference. Motorcraft brakes are more inline with aftermarket and their prices reflect that-somewhat.

Without being too specific, there CAN be differences in Ford and Motorcraft parts. Of course, your oil filters will be the same, along with frequently used maintenance parts.
However, there are different levels of replacement Ford parts. In the example of a ball joint, your OEM replacement part probably will not have a zerk. Your replacement Motorcraft ball joint MIGHT have a zerk.
The part number is the best way to decipher a replacement Ford item. With brake parts your center number will determine the quality. The center number of the long number will be 2001 (front) or 2200 (rear) for an OEM part. Your value line Ford replacement part will be 2V001 or 2V200. These are the parts that Ford will sell to compete with the cheap aftermarket. The value-line rotors will have a "V" in the part number. The value-line rotors will begin with BRR where the OEM part numbers will begin with BRRF.
Just because you buy a Motorcraft replacement part doesn't mean that it has OEM quality.
Another example: I just looked at RockAuto for a replacement alternator for my 2002 Ford 3.0 Escape. Two Motorcraft alternators are listed, GLV8679RM and GLV8946RM, both having the "V" in the part number and both are listed as economy replacements.

I googled this . There is Ford Parts and there is Ford Motorcraft parts. Genuine Ford may not be the same as Motorcraft. It mat be a higher grade part. Go on the Ford site and read more if you want.

in think in general Ford parts are the same as OE or what the car/truck came from the factory with. if it has the Ford logo (oval) or FoMoCo it is OE or made from an OE mold or casting at least.

motor craft might be but are more likely Aftermarket.

Mopar parts are all OE. NOT counting accessories.

I will add to this the most expensive cam sensor Ford has retails for 51.70 & it's for a 6.0/6.4
Most expensive for a 7.3 35.58

the 6.7 which I've never sold one or even looked one up is 75.09..
