A lot of people do that. The more educated they are,the more they tend to do it I think. When was the last time you heard or read the word might instead of may? When I was in elementary school we didn't get away with that. If you said something like "you may want to",the teacher would all but slap you down and tell you that may gives permission,might means something could happen.

There is a word puzzle in the daily newspaper.

They give you a word, then you are supposed to find all the words that can be made from the letters in the given word. Certain rules apply, must be 4 letters or more, etc. I don't even try to work it! I'm lucky to find 2 out of 20!

The next day they give the solution. Makes me aware of just how limited my vocabulary is, usually I don't recognize half the words they list!
