Hough 30 payloads ATF

I have a Hough payloader that calls for ATF in the convertor drive. What fluid is right? Also I have a case of type f does it have a use in anything other than a Ford automatic?

The factory spec. is Dexron ATF

Type F? earlier ford trannies, some wet clutch applications, some cold weather hydrualics or traanies, rear ends in cold weather. Some Hydrostatic drive units specified the high flow, low pressure pumps and drives, used type F for friction drive. Now a 5-50 full syntheticis recomended for some of th eunits like sealed rear ends/trannies for cheap lawn tractors. Type F recommend for Harley big twin trannies in winter, sidecar rigs used then at times by a few police depts when panheads were still in service, shovelheads were current production. RN.
