O/T pics on a trail cam I saw, oops

While walking the woods on a farm with my one daughter who enjoys trees and everything outdoors, I found a trail cam set up on one of my
trees pointing out to the corner of the field. Only problem is that I?m between renters and no one has permission to hunt on the property. So I
took down the trail cam and brought it home. It was in working condition and took a picture of me. There was no name on the trail cam so I
looked at the pictures just to see what deer or critters it saw (there?s fox on this farm in the hollers). Well let?s just say I saw a lot more than
critters. I would make an obvious suggestion to everyone out there. Don?t take private pictures of your wife or girlfriend and then put that same
card in a trail cam on another persons property. Oops. Glad I don?t know them, that?d be uncomfortable! P.S. got myself a nice $100 trail cam.

Leave them a card about how they can reclaim their camera. Make sure a deputy is there when they show up.

...And tell them you have copies of the pics and a GOOD internet connection, should they ever decide to try that again.

Great.. now look what you have done.. .its the game warden's camera, and your looking at his wife... Boy, are you in trouble...

Now getting into cameras. There are several " Recovery " programs you can purchase for around $40.oo. They work VERY well to recover everything that was ever on that card. Well worth the cost because you ain't gonna beleive what else could be on that card. Plenty of giggles. :) ;)

So, where are the pics?

Some of the fancy trail cams have phone cards in them and text pics to the owner. I doubt that one does since you already inspected it.

Hang no trespassing sign as mentioned and keep things to yourself. The camera owner or someone that knows him just may show up. Ask for advice from a deputy.

To all who said "post them" or "print them" - That's a TERRIBLE idea. Don't do ANYTHING with the pictures. Don't even admit you looked at them. Your luck, the person photographed was underage. People get in big trouble all the time posting pics of others without consent, even if they are of age. That's registered offender territory there. I know you were joking, but don't do it.

i'd probably not do anything with it. tempting to put a "no trespassing sign" up but then he'd have a really good idea who has his camera.

it was there risk to put it out there for anyone that came by to take.

dumb to even take those pictures... really dumb to have those pictures on it out in public. could have had his personal banking/taxes/brokerage info on there too.

I would stay private with them like others said. The owner can come back on you if the video gets out on the net and his livelihood is affected.

A few years ago a teacher and his wife were having trouble with relations in the bedroom. They went to a councellor for help and he told them to video a session of them in bed and watch it later to help get them in the mood. He borrowed a video recorder from the school to video the scene but forgot to delete the tape when he returned the recorder. A student got his eyes full when he plugged the tape into a computer at school. The teacher lost his job.

Personally, I would put it back. How will you feel when you are in this situation? Just because someone else has made a mistake, that should not serve as justification for your doing something that is morally incorrect. After all, it wasn't yours to begin with and it was not intended for you to have either. Do NOT allow yourself to compromise your own personal standards. But only you know how this is making you feel.
It is your choice

my. thought would be to call the game warden and or the local sherrif and tell them what happened. give them the game camera. post a note where the caamera was. to who it may concern, your camera is in the possesion of game warden bob smith phone number....... this is private property and you are tresspassing. if you are caught here again you will be arrested. and that should take care of it. i have no use for tresspassers or illegal hunters. who ever set the camera is obviously spotting game to come back and hunt.

Trespassing is not a mistake any more than shop lifting would be a mistake. Only the offender or people that would be an offender would want to call a deliberate act a mistake.

I've lost track of how many times I've seen people mounting game cameras and deer stands on DNR land where they are not supposed to leave anything. There are SSSOOOOO many people that have no respect for the law, are just plain lazy, or both.

In this instance, it's not public land, but private. It is the responsibility of every hunter to 1) know the ownership of land they hope/plan to hunt, and 2) to respect that land, regardless of ownership.

I agree with the post to turn it in to law enforcement and let them deal with it, assuming you do not live in Randy's (rrlund) area, in which case it seems the video might make its way online anyhow, possibly on their official Facebook page!

I didn't look at all them, was afraid I'd see my neighbor and never look at them the same again!! I would guess I can find out whose it is through the grapevine. I just have a problem with tresspassers on this farm from years of an owner not living on it. It's kind of been a free for all it seems and I'm working on stopping that.

The DNR told me that 40 some deer take refuge in my woods. I have had trespassing problems since the 1970's up until I gave the DNR wardens exclusive permission to hunt my property. Trespassing problem solved.

I am sitting here wondering why all of the answers to your post were suggesting things to do with the camera as if you had asked for advice. I had to go back and read your original post.
So, since you did not ask for any advice, I will offer none. Good for a chuckle, though.
