Ground hog in pole barn

Apologizes for the OT post, but I do store my tractor and 3pt implements, along with summer time toys in the barn. Unheated, mostly gravel w/clay floor.

Last weekend, I moved a pallet w/a table saw, collapsed a tunnel. Followed a few tunnels to dead ends. I think I've found the main tunnel. Critter pulled a blue tarp down one hole.

Any tips, suggestions for eviction, would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Set a conibear trap in groundhog hole in barn. Forget about it till I smelled him. One powerful trap to get a past due critter out of.

Earlier this summer, I noticed that a ground hog had created a tunnel in the stone beneath the concrete floor in one of my pole barns. Fortunately, I noticed it within a day or two of when he created it.

I drove the 52 8N to the spot, slid the vacuum cleaner hose onto the tail pipe (no little lady, so no worries), pushed the other end into the hole a couple of feet and let it run at about 800 RPM for about 15 minutes. After removing the tractor and hose, I shoveled a bit of stone into the tunnel entrance. The next day, after inspecting to see if the tunnel had been reopened (it had not been), I shoveled as much of the rest of the stone into the tunnel as I could.

No evidence of any activity since.

I have the same problem with them. This is what I use. I have only seen one other than the two my father in law had.

Ever since the flood of Dec 2015 and the other floods I have had the ground hogs seem to have gone bye bye. Me I would if it is close enough try a garden hose and flood them out. Plus doing that you may well find all of its openings so then you have the option of traps and not missing the thing.

I had a ground hog burrow under the garage last year. I picked a couple old Lauson engines I have that are a little smoky. I used a gas appliance connector on each engine and piped the exhaust under the slab, filled each engine full of gas, packed dirt around the hole and let them run until out of gas. No more activity since. This works pretty good on moles too.

These are the best. No accident problems. Good feed store or hardware
stores. They are $5.oo ea. And come in a big box of 100. I put extra
long fuses on them so I have plenty of time to shovel. Read the
directions. You can use a couple of 30min. road flares too, but the
hog bombs only take like one or two minutes. No excapes.

I've got a couple around and know what they can do under foundations but they haven't been up to the house or barns so I've let them go so far. I could take them out, but so far they've kept their distance and I see them scurry around.

Tarp was still in the hole. Didn't find any other openings in or out side, which I know may mean nothing. Not sure when they actually start to hibernate, so I backed up the truck, used some 6" HVAC duct w/a elbow. Let it run 20-25 minutes. Sealed hole, tamped down area.

We'll see what happens.
Thanks much for everyone's time and suggestions,

They have NOT been legal or avaible here for years. To much chance of setting a building on fire. Found that out when I went looking for them.
