9 month check cancer non existent

Three years for me...numbers are still good too. I had a little bit of a tough time with mine, took a full year to get over some the odd pain I was having.

Been 9 years ago. Keep having your psa checked every 6 months. Doc said he had one patient that reoccurred after 20 years.

Best of luck to you!

I just today had my 4 year checkup on what would have been a really bad case (smelled of terminal by Dec. '13) of Lymphoma....squeaky clean and have been since the last of the 6 treatments in Sept '13.

I bring the Dr. (female) and nurses roses every time I come and give them a big hug which they enthusiastically return....good to give them some uplift being in that doom and gloom environment.

Go back to the chemo room and show off to the patients undergoing treatment. Show them that there is hope. You can see the companions, usually spouses or siblings, eyes light up, grins, tears, emotional reactions from the fret and worry about their loved one. Keeping the spirit....Half the battle. I know of at least 2 cases where the mind tells the body to die and it dies. My mother at 86 was one, just got tired of living; had just fallen and broke her hip. In a week she was gone. Gotta keep the mind focused on recovery.

It has been 15 years since my proton beam PC cure. Fifteen plus years of throwing 11 to 13,000 square bales. I just do that for exercise.

Been 11 years out for me come middle of November. Same surgery, but nearly lost my life from a bleeding problem. Caught mine early--had no symptoms at all. Guys, get checked at least every couple years!

kickinbull, it's been nearly two years for me. So far no detectable signs of Cancer in my system. He used the DaVinci system for mine, too. At first, it was every three months, then six months, now Doc says come back every year for a blood test. (I HATE tests)

The best way to avoid cancer, heart disease, clear your arteries, prevent alzheimers, and lose weight is to stop eating sugar and other carbs, especially anything made from wheat, and let your diet be only vegetables and fatty meat. My wife and I lost a combined 28# in only a few weeks by doing this, significantly lowered our blood pressure, and became mentally sharper. And cancer is not a disease. It is only a symptom of high levels of toxicity in the blood and elsewhere. Dr. Mary in New Orleans had a 98% cure rate for his cancer patients by injecting them with massive doses of vitamin C, up to 400,000 mg/day in one case, no chemo and no radiation. This man was sent home to die by his doctors because he only had about a week left to live, according to them. But 3 weeks after starting his vitamin C injections he did not have a trace of cancer in his body. That was typical for Dr. Mary. The FDA eventually shut him down because cancer is the biggest money maker that the medical industry has at present. They do not tolerate anyone actually curing cancer. Chemo, on the other hand, has a 98% failure rate. The average lifespan after chemo for an adult is 5 years. Chemo destroys your liver. You can't live without it. That's how it kills you. BTW, a Baptist minister named George Malkamus also has a 98% success rate curing cancer, using only raw vegetable juices to flush out the toxins. His website is www.myhdiet.com I think. Just thought you guys would like to know.

Texasmark1, you, sir, are an Angel. I was too far gone to have the chemo (A-Typical, said the Doc, as I had NO symptoms). What you're doing gives hope to our fellow travelers. It may seem a small thing to you, but trust me, those patients and their families are grasping for anything offering a future. Proving that there IS Life after such a diagnosis is immeasurable.

Radiation treatment about 13 years back, lasted 10 years as predicted, last year was freezing-Cryo treatment- supposed to be good for another 5 years or so. Radiation side effects was really weak for couple years. Cryo side effect is need frequent pee breaks, carry spare underwear in car, etc. Last PSA good. Brother still has coffin I made in garage just in case. RN. .

You dont know how timely this post is. My biopsy results came back positive this week. Consultation with surgeon on this coming Monday. It has been on my mind to say the least. Worried about the cancer and side effects of treatments. I am 54 years old.

Thank you sir. I understand.

My sweetie sat by me every time through the 4 1/2 hour treatments. I know she was worried sick. I didn't realize how bad off I was. Should have gotten the message when they installed a "port" in my upper chest rather than do the IVs. Said the chemicals would burn out your small vessels and had to connect to an artery. They give you a sedative to keep you calm so things don't matter a whole lot. I worked cross word puzzles or dozed. Helped the time pass.

I had no symptoms for a long time either other than excess stomach acid....thought that was due to my bad habits and blew it off. I went in for an annual checkup and the Dr. said my white blood cells were excessive. Said I had internal bleeding somewhere. Suggested I get a Colonoscopy. I said I want a GI tract look see. Said I'd do the Colon if he would request the GI too.

Surgeon did the GI first and when she saw what she saw, she stopped the procedure and took the pictures to the cancer Dr. By then I was hurting pretty good and was ready for some help. All that hooplaw about "No way am I going to do chemo or radiation" is all a bunch of baloney. If you are hurting bad enough you'll do what it takes.

What's great is that in today's world we have the tools to fix problems like this and we have Medicare insurance to pay for it. $150k was the list price. Hard to attempt something like that on your own and besides Medicare negotiates cheaper rates that you can't on your own. Feel sorry for the folks left out in the cold.

I was 56 when my bad news came, 12 of 12 biopsy samples were positive, with positive margins on top of that (basically if the prostate were an orange, the cancer was also in the peel). I met with 3 doctors before I got the right one, did the nerve sparing and robotic surgery. Had to follow up with 37 radiation treatments a year later, but overall I am satisfied with the results. My advice...don't rush it, find a doctor with good references.

Thanks. Similar results 12 positive. Dont know about margins. This group is supposed to be cream of the crop around Birmingham. Eurology Center of Alabama. Specialize in the Da Vinci robotic system. How long before you could work picking up heavy stuff? I am a home builder and oramental ironworker.

They won't know if you have positive margins until after the surgery and they dissect the dang thing. Unfortunately I was diagnosed right before our busy produce and custom tractor work season, and had surgery in the middle of June. My wife and friends were a great help and we survived. I was back to light duty in 6 weeks...that is one area you do not want to strain. Doc said I would still be healing after a year....

12 years ago I was diagnosed with chronic leukemia-can't recall exact type. Over the years only change was platelet level dropped to around 20k when normal is 140k to 440k. That and an enlarged spleen. While having skin cancer removed in July this year found lymphoma cells so now just completed first of 4-6 chemo treatments. I am now 79 so will see how it goes. I have had 3 oncologists over the years and none of them ever pushed me to chemo until now and the last one said effective rate is higher than it used to be with the newer drugs that are used and the side effects are considerably less. Will see. The Lord has me whether I go or stay.
God bless all you guys. May we and our families all have peace of mind and heart.
