JD 1010 Hydraulics

I have a JD1010 with a drop bucket. The hydraulics are very weak and slow to raise or lower the bucket. The three pointh hitch works ok. I added some fluid to the hydraulics, with no effect. Assume the pump is bad. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Walt

Do you have a front mount pump for the loader? That is the only way it could be a bad pump as if not then the same pump built into tractor handles both the 3 point and loader. Look for valve problem.

I will take a look, believe it is one pump. Was my Uncle's tractor, looks like they just put a connector on the hydraulic line and ran to the valves. I am not a hydraulic expert, but would think that you would need a power beyond valve. I believe I have a gage to check the pressure on the of the ports, so will take a look. If I remember right, they used a rubber strap to hold the valve open by the seat, which feeds to valve that controls the loader. Not sure if that would cause stress on the pump and wear it out quicker. Just starting to get into it, so thought I'd get some ideas before proceeding. I am not bad at fixing stuff, but if this has a design flaw, then I am lost...

Thanks for the help!

Walt
