Frost & Woods sickle mower

I have a Frost & Woods sickle mower from Smith Falls Ontario and I am wondering if anyone knows what the round circle at my feet is used for

Not certain but Dad said it was for holding an oil can

As a kid I spent many hours riding on one of those mowers. We always had an oil can in that hole. It was used to oil the pitman head and the sickle bar.

Pictures would help. The Frost and Wood company was bought by Cockshutt Farm Equipment many years ago.

Our farm was about 35 miles from Frost & Wood plant in Smith Falls, Ontario and when I was very young we had a Frost & Wood grain
binder that was originally horse drawn and the pole had been shortened and converted to a tractor hitch. I remember one time Dad
took the knotter off the binder and took it the plant in Smith Falls and they completely rebuilt it.

The grain binder had a tool box and an oil can holder under the iron seat.

All makes had that and an oil can in there was standard to come with a new mower.
