Had my 61st B'day Monday, hope to last 4-5 more years and be able to retire and enjoy it a little bit. My folks were in poor health in retirement years, just relegated to Dr. visits, some short trips and us three kids looking in on them, doing the best we could for them.

Happy Birthday!!!

Keep those retirement plans in order. Ain't taking none of this with us when we leave this world.

Phil, I hope you have A good Birthday, and many more. Hope your folks are doing better.
I have A few years on you, and my folks have passed. Good luck.

Happy birthday. Keep plugging away. Maybe it's just me,but I've got a huge hunch your's and my health will diminish quick if we do retire.

congrats on birthday, i will have my 63 tomorrow, thinking real strong about closing shop and doing what i want instead what customers want. how many others collected early instead of after 65, i know is big dollar diff but also know several that never made it that far.

Happy Birthday!! I burnt that bridge 10 years ago last Sat.. Those bridges seam to come faster with each passing year.

Happy Birthday and many more. I'm 1 1/2 behind and trying to figure a way to retire early.

I'll be 64 this month and will not be planning on retire for a bit. maybe 68? I'm having too much fun with my job. love being able to work only 8 hour days, get respect for my work, tackle the projects the way I want to and make good money.

I will be 63.5 in December and that is when the insurance will still be in force using cobra option taking me on in to medicare so looks like a logical retirement point. It would be strange after 45 years not going in.

Happy Birthday! I hit 62 last week and looking at retirement mid next year, if all works out. My wife will be 62 next year and has a good job at the same company. We both will have a pension and have been contributing to our 401k plan and have some other small investments. Things are changing here and not for the better and I've said I'll sit in a cold, dark house rather that put up with the BS for very long. She tells me to hang in there, but don't know how long I can.

Yep, "over the hill" should have been the title. In response to one of the replies, I didn't clarify my Daddy passed away in '91 and Mama in "2000. Miss them every day, but life goes on and hope I'll be able to enjoy retirement one day.

Could have retired in August gonna wait till I can get on Medicare to make the call... Even if I retired at 62 I would be in the shop so may as well keep making money to pay for my toys...

I use to think I am now at the top of my game but cannot turn the work out I use too... I found out charge more and work less makes up the difference... Not everyone is a cheap arse the world is full of folks that will pay for quality work/parts at your price...
