LED Tractor Lights

I was looking through eBay tonight at led work lights. It's pretty amazing how much the price has come down on them. My question is this. What would a reasonable wattage or lumens be for a light on a skid steer or smaller tractor? I see them from 18 watts to 64 watts in a 4" light. I realize more light is better, to a point.

Anyone using some care to share the size, application, and whether or not you are happy with them?

Here are some that I have been using for various things the last few years. They seem to hold up well and are economical enough (4 lights for $52.61 shipped) that you can try them without breaking the bank. They are 27 watt, four inch lights. The white light really penetrates dust and such. For what your doing make sure and get flood lights. The narrow beam of a spot type does not work well for work lights.

LED lights on Ebay

Good morning,

I bought the ones JDSeller recommended- he has recommended them before to others- and couldn't be happier. Four thumbs up from me.

JD, I just went to the link you posted. They are marked down to 34 & change. That is really a good price, my question is, will the bulbs fit into a regular 4" light with the rubber around it socket? Of course the bulb fits inside a groove in the rubber.

I will third those lights im up to my 2nd and a half carton of them. 20 to a carton. Not sure where they all go but nealy everything round here has some on it. Header tractors trucks pick ups you name it for price n the light you carnt beet them. No they wont fit in another light housing they are stand alone light no bulbs just pull off and replace. Only thing i can say is some of last lot the brackets are no good but a bit off 2x2inch rhs angle grinder and drill soon make one that wont break out on mounting hole

I just looked at JD's lights he recommended. They are marked down to 34 bucks with free shipping. I was thinking of ordering at set even though I can't think of anything that I would use them on at this time. But it looks to be a good deal and would be used sooner or later.

I installed some like on JD's link but the ones I used are 35W, talk about lighting up a field at night, but I don't use them on roadways, they blind oncoming traffic.

Well, to keep it simple. Watts= how bright it will be. So the higher the watts, the more light you get. The color is VERY important. You want 5200?kelvin or higher. 6000 is virtually broad day light or a cloudless sunny day. Fantastic at night. Lastly are the LED elements themselves. There are COB and CREE. The CREE type give you Much better light and power. Hands down!
Here are two photos I took just last evening. Out in the woods with my big Husqvarna garden tractor. These are replacement bulbs from Ebay. They are 1156 base and are daytime driving lights for the VW Jettas. Not too expensive but boy oh boy are they bright. First is just after sunset and the other set are very late dusk. Impressive arn't they?? They are fantastic for backup lites on your car or truck. Replacement bulbs for old style tractor lights too.
Now going to LEDs on road vehicles. If you mount them on your truck they should be covered when on the road. Now if the fuzz stop you and they want to make a name for themselves here is what they can do. You will get a ticket for illegal lghts. Maybe $135.oo ticket. Here is where you take a deep breath. They all so will count how many elements there are. Then you get the same fine for EACH of those elements. That ticket just went to the moon didn't it??!!.

A few days ago I ordered some 1800 lumen , 6000K Cree with the 1156 base for the lawn tractor . Have to double check but iirc the front hood lights on the 2355 etc use a T-10 base . Thinking about a set of LeD’s In there . A light bar under the rops facing back for visibility blowing snow too.

Keith, no the lights JD posted are complete one piece 4" light assembly and I have bought those same ones as well. The bulbs your a looking for are #4411 (led is PAR36) that fit into the Hobbs or Guide style rubber bezel light. Take a look at Larson Lights, that's were I have been buying my 4411/PAR36 type from. The more you buy the better his prices get per bulb, plus you can mix and match between spot, trap, or flood pattern.

I'm with JD, I have 6 of those and like them also and plan to buy some more. Mine are the 27w 4" 60 degree flood pattern. I have also replaced the Hobbs & Guide style rubber bezel #4411 light bulbs with led PAR36 30w flood beam pattern from Larson Lights. Have both combination of lights on several tractors.
