Is a doglegs/hood taller on 801 over an 800?

I have a 600 and a 801 tractor. The 600 has a smaller and
shorter gas tank than the 801 which has a larger and
taller gas tank. Both hoods and doglegs look the same
in size.
I do not know if the 801 hood will sit high enough
to clear the taller tank.

Is there supposed to be a difference? Or maybe it has
to mount through the top square hole under the radiator?

Any help?

Doglegs and hood are same, you will
notice two different height mounting
holes on the front bolster a low and
high set, also the cowl is slightly
different where the steering wheel come
thru since it too sits higher by an inch
or two

I would expect that Ford would make an accommodation
for using the same hood on different series.

Well, since my 801 hood had the lower doglegs replaced
with solid HD flat steel. I will have to drill mounting
holes using the 600 as a template.

Hood centers on those 2 tractors are not the same...measure the hinge spacing to see that the larger 34'tank will require wider spaced hinges. I have a 641 that has the 34" tank and had to replace the center hood, had to use one from a 801. Not sure about the height of the doglegs but, I think they are the same.

Wow I will have to measure the hinge spacing.
I believe the sides and doglegs came with the
821 (Back hoe/ loader combo) but had to
pickup the hood years ago from ebay.

Do you mean also that the width of the hood
(side to side) is wider or just the
length?

I checked t6he spacing of the hood door hinges
and you are right. The 801 hood spacing is 34"
and the 600 is more like 29".
The overall length of the hood door is the same.

I am lucky the hood door I picked up is the right one.
