ford 600 floods out

my dad has a ford600 it wants to start but wont plugs are black and just put new ones in would the condenser cause this or whatever else u have in mind carb was rebuilt its converted to 12 volt help please

Do a few troubles thing to start with.
#1 Check that it has a good blue/white spark at the center wire on the distributor cap and at the 4 plug wires that jump a 1/4 inch gap or more
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes.
#3 when was the last time the air cleaner was serviced and the water and mud dumped out and good new oil put in
As for spark plugs now days I have switch to the NGK3112 in my tractor they seem to handle this newer gas better then the champs or auto lite do

Converted to 12 volt, first check the coil, see if it says use with external resister, and the correct resister is in place, move to fuel. If the coil doesn't call for an external resister, and there is one, remove it.

When it was last running, was there black smoke?

If so, that is a sign of too rich. Could be the main adjustment is too far open, float set too high, trash in the needle/seat holding the needle valve open.

Does it drip fuel with the fuel valve open? Even though just rebuilt, it only takes a tiny speck of rust to hold the needle valve open.

When the air cleaner was serviced, did you clean the mesh filter inside the canister, check for dirt dobbers and mouse nests?

My apologies for getting off topic but how would you say those 3112's compare to an AB-6? I have been looking for an NGK slightly hotter than the AB-6 with no luck. Are the 3112's a different thread than the AB-6 and this is why I haven't found it to crossovers? Thanks again

I do not know about the AB-6 plugs. But I do know the NGK3112 is in the same heat range of the auto lite 437 and if I remember right the champ H12

When it is running do you have black smoke?? You said in your first post if I remember right the plugs where black. So is it black and sooty or black and oily?? If sooty you have the main jet set to far out. So if you have black smoke while running try turning the main jet In till the black smoke stops

I cant keep it running long enough to adjust the main jet and when we do adjust it and it does start running it wont stay running, yes plugs are black sutty color
