They forgot something on this 80h master link

Well, okay?

I see all the necessary components for a master link there. What's "missing?" I'm sure it's something like "quality" right?

I've seen a lot of master links over the years made all over the planet. Every once in a while a component will be missing, even in the USA made ones. We're all human, and even when packaged by machines, the machines were designed and built by humans so they make mistakes too.

That is the clip, but i don't see a split on it to get over the other pin.

I believe there is more than one kind of replaceable master link. The type we're all familiar with (having the split clip) is one of those. Not sure what type the picture represents for sure. Some have the third component of the link safety wired onto the shanks of the master link (which would have grooves near the end of the shanks). There are also master links where the shanks are made to be peened or riveted in place to hold the link together.
