Biggest car show

Tbe country's biggest car show is October 4-7. Just the flea market is
over 60 achers. If I can cover just one of the five fields in one
day...I have done pretty good. I know about half a dozen things I am
going to be looking for. The guy whos company makes jobber grade drill
bits for the aircraft industry and such is there. I think this year I
am going to buy a complete 29ps. set from him. Love the 135 bits with
the three side shanks. I buy the short ones, they are much easier to
handle. Also need some white compound stick for buffing. Some extra
tiny loop crimp fittings, etc. Hope to see you at Hershey, PA.

I have always heard Hershey was huge. I live about 90 miles from Iola WI which is also a large car show and swap meet. I try and go every year. Pretty much have to keep walking at a good solid pace all day long to get through Iola in one day. I quickly scan the swap meet booths as I walk and only stop if something catches my eye. If I stopped at every booth and really looked at the items it would take a week to get through it.

That is how Hershey is except that is just ONE field. You still have four more to go. I take 4 or 5 bills in my pocket and just go and blow all of it and have fun. I will be posting pictures likely Friday or Saturday. Anyone that is ANYWHERE near to Hershey really should try to go. Yes there is some tractor stuff that shows up. Lots of collectable toys, but have seen real tractors too. Some jd, a bunch of doodle bugs, and others. They leave them on 5he trailer so it is ready to deliver somewhere. Also lots of old truck stuff too.

How many acres is Hershey? I think Iola is around 300. Someone told me that if you walked every isle of the car show and swap meet it is 8 miles. Don't know how true that is but I sure feel tired at the end of the day. I like to take my old truck to the Iola show because then I can park roughly in the middle of it and have a lawn chair and beverage cooler to take breaks.

Don't know the total but pull up Hershey on google maps. Look for Hershey park. ALL of that parking area out to and past Giant stadium plus the fields to the west and also most of the green areas across the road from it too. As I said, this show is huge. My dad and I had several friends who had motor homes and would camp out for all four days. They couldn't even get all of the way around. The outfit from Vegas Harrah's used to send teams with radios to search for stuff. They would have these big vans just crammed full of crap by Saturday night. It really depends on what you're looking for but I have always needed to go back to my vehicle three or four times to unload, take about a twenty minute break, and then dive right back in.

We used to go to Brimfield, Mass. to the antique shows and walk all the fields. We'd hit it a couple times a year (they have three shows a year). Luckily the fields didn't open all at once. We would also go to Farmington, CT the day before Brimfield opens. I couldn't do that today, my feet and ankles couldn't take that much walking. Pretty much the entire town of Brimfield on both sides of the road (about a mile in length) are antique fields, thousands of dealers. Hershey sounds like fun too.
